Never let a shop pull your wheels — whether it’s for brakes, suspension, or even tires — unless you determine that they use a torque wrench (or calibrated torque limiting attachment on the impact wrench).

Two reasons:
• Improper torque can warp hot rotors,
• Using torque wrenches on something as mundane as wheel nuts, is an indicator that the shop generally uses up-to-date good practices.

i had another quick question. i was going to buy axis mm brake pads and put them in front with oem rotors and put them in the rear with aftermarket rotors. Is it ture that aftermarket pads will mess up the oem rotors?? and also with the aftermarket stuff will it squeak??

buy the green stuff. they will last longer and they produce less wear and dust.

Since we are on the topic of torque wrneches, would some please let me know if I need to get a 1/2 inch or 3/8 inch torque drive if I am planning on getting one myself. What is the difference here?

Thanks in advance.

Question brakes and rotors

I recently put on the EBC sport rotors on the front and EBC green pads all the way around. All I can say is that I am underwhelmed. I would say I get maybe a 5% improvement. If you drove cars back to back with this change you might guess it right 3/4 times. Remember chance wil get it right 2/4 times!

Not to mention if you ever get a flat and ahve to put on a spare, you will have a hell of a time getting the lugs loosened.
