Post Brake Rotors

I know this topic has been up before, but how many people have had problems with their brake rotors being warped?

I had problems and I took it to the dealership and they resurfaced the rotors for free out of warranty. Just wondering how many other people got hooked up.

same problem, have yet to go to dealer for a fix. My guess is either they are thin to begin with and don't like abuse, or perhaps I got 'em wet while hot as I washed my car many times.

Or perhaps the last person to rotate your tires overtorqued/unevenly torqued your lug nuts.Make sure dealer uses a torque wrench or torque stick if using impact gun to tighten lug nuts.

SW20 is right. All manufacturers make the rotors so light now to save weight that over torguing is a problem with most manufactures.
Read most of the forums and you'll see what I mean. I bought a good wrench that I use myself and won't let anyone use an air wrench on my wheels.

Sorry for the people not sure what a torque stick is, its a socket with a exstension that attaches to a impact gun. Torque sticks come in different torque ratings. TL's as with most Honda/Acura's should have the lug nuts torqued to 80 foot pounds. A torque stick will let you tighten only up to that rating, not more.Cool tool.

Mine warped @ 15k miles and the dealer resurfaced. And just this week I brought the car in with the same problem with 30k miles and the dealer replaced the rotors and pads. This was all at no cost to me since the car is under warranty.

Other things that got replaced for free under warranty: Moonroof, dash facsia (around instraments and controls because of warpage), 3 tail light bulbs, tail light bulb harness, shiny black tape trim on both rear door.

The dealer never questioned any of my complaints and was very speedy with the repairs. I guess I'll have to give them a good rating when filling out the dealer service survey I recieved from Honda of America.

You can tell when your rotors are warped, when you apply the brakes and the car/steering wheel shakes, more noticebly when brakig @ high speeds.

I am taking my car into Park Ave Acura to get the warped rotors fix. And also the black tape around the window sills (all 4). And the door sill paint is chipping off so fixing that too (all 4 also). Hey my warranty is almost up so might as well take advantage of it now. Wayne told me that the extended warranty does not cover things like the door and window sill problems. But I will ask again to make sure.
