brake question

what's up everyone. Its been awhile. I need someone to tell me the part number for 1994 legend twin piston calipers. I am going to upgrade to twin piston. Its cheaper than a big brake kit, and if you guys go to R1 concepts website, you can get slotted and cross-drilled rotors for front and back for cheap. Put that with twin piston calipers from 1994-1995 legend, and you got whoop ass stopping ability.

Use 95 legend LS Coupe calipers
I ordered with the brackets so I could grab all the metal springy parts off the new brackets and use them on the TL- its cheaper than buying the pieces seperate
Raybestos pro grade# FRC10627 FRC10628
you install them opposite of intended side, L goes on Right side of car
- use TL pads- TL rotors -TL caliper brackets.
only the caliper itself is changed

I would stay away from cross drilled in most brands- a few are made to be drilled but most are simply done after the fact- Result is cracks at the holes after a while
Slotted are great asset becasue they give the pad gas a place to escape while in pad contact mode

there are a handful of us currently running this setup, and others from the past that have moved onto other cars. Those who offer exact part numbers tend to have installed the parts they are talking about, or work in a parts store.
I upgraded the rotors and pads long before the calipers, then after caliper install- had to get bigger badder tires to handle the braking ability!

For 150-200 bucks part$ total, for 2 rebuilt calipers, to get the kind of stopping power the TL really needs, its one of the very best mods in -value for money spent- to date.
Tied with Kaixen bulbs as best upgrade under 200 bucks, seeing at night is important, and stopping 30 feet sooner when you see something is awesome~ IMO

DON'T buy R1 concepts rotors if you use brakes more than my wife (trust me, you do). Get something better. R1 uses crap blanks, purchased in bulk, usually not true to begin with, and then CNC's them. Garbage in = garbage out. "you get what you pay for." I say this only after running them myself for about 1.25 yrs and the rears were warped upon arrival and R1 never responded to my correspondence about replacement. The fronts warped within 6 mos and that pretty much sucks. Then, you either change the rotors again, spin them due to the rotors as opposed to pad replacement, or wear your tires out of round! buy somehting BETTER.

Thats what everyone who has this mod says- these should have come on the car stock!
Thats business- cheapest parts possible, at least its an easy changeout-

Remember to use TL brackets and swap the calipers L for R is the only tricks, the rest is direct bolt on... like they belonged there.
I never measured the stock stopping distance, but I know how easy I can stop well before a designated point/line with minimal effort, and emptying the seats of loose objects is simple if desired

thanks for the warning about r1 brakes, but there already on my car, front and back. I had the tl up to 120mph, and had to give the brakes a little tappy, and nothing bad happened. I have had them on for a year now and no complaints. They are better than stock and $88 bucks for the fronts, cheaper for the rears.

thats not the thing that hurts rotors- one tap at 120- big deal

its repeated uses in the mountains or stop and go traffic that generate excess heat and tweak the R1
you can have them a year and still ok, but if cross drilled, start checking them with a big magnifyer for cracks- could be any day now

I noticed immediate difference in quality between the R1 and Racing Brake. I am sold on the quality and courtesy of the staff. They are a great business with good ethics, vision, and poducts. Come time, definitely check them out.
