brake problem, please help
after i bled the brake system, the paddle feels funny at times. it brakes fine except at stop lights, the paddle sinks a couple inches after if has been depressed for 30 seconds or so. anyone has any good ideas? air leak, fluid leak?

Start with the front driver side > front passenger side > rear passenger side > rear driver side.
The best tool for this is a vacum hose kit, around $25. It sucks so you don't need a 2nd person to help you, because you don't need to press the brakes to pump fluid out.

Actually, you want to start with the farthest line and work your way to the shortest line when bleeding brakes. Also, check to make sure that you tightened all the bleeder screws in the caliper and that air isn't seeping in that way. When you are bleeding the brakes, make sure to periodically add fluid into the master cylinder, because if you don't, you will eventually end up sucking air back into the system from the master cylinder.

Trust me when I say Start with the front driver side > front passenger side > rear passenger side > rear driver side.
This came from the 99+ TL Acura Service Manual that mechanics use at the acura dealers

. I always started from the farthest point, then worked forward. But, if this is what Acura does, well it's time to change. Thanks for the info.

why are you doing this to start with?
did your brakes get funny feeling so you decided to bleed them, or am I missing something.
I just had a problem thats been ongoing with my brakes. repaired, after 2 master cylinders and a bunch of bleed jobs, they found that the abs box was sucking air in some how.
my brakes would be fine for about a 1000 miles or so then start to get softer. until it would almost go to the floor. this went on for about 8,000 miles.
I just reread your sig, i guess its the 96 tl. I would say that this wont apply then. sorry for no help.

Sorry Bitium, didn't mean to steal your thunder. From my experience with cars and from the mechanics I've talked to, that was the way brakes were bled. I guess Acura figures their way is as good as any, and as far as I can tell, no need to argue with Acura...they've proven themselves. So thanks for the info!

i bled the 96 TL which never had the fluid changed for the last 6 years.

don't worry bro. You are not the only one I have heard "start from farthest and work towards the shortest line" But like you said if acura says the other way, then that's the way it should be done.
