Have an 02 TLs purchased last Aug. Started hearing a groaning noise from engine compartment shortly after. Dealer said brake modulator on S model does a test when starting and placing in drive. I said demo didn't do it. After a couple of times complaining they replaced the modulator and groan went away. A month later it started again, now I hear it three times when starting out after an engine off stop. Never repeats the noise again untill I stop and turn the engine off. Anyone else have this problem?

That's not a problem. It's the ABS modulator engaging. I hear this every single morning when I pull out and has done it for almost the past 5 years.

I haven't had this on my TL, but I used to have a Chevy Tahoe and I would hear the ABS every damn time I started the car.
