Brake Lights?

One side of my brake lamps went out about a month ago and now the "Brake Lamp" light has come on AGAIN...

How Many 2000 TL Owners have had to replace their brake lamps already ?????

ive replaced mine...its funny cuz 3 bulbs went out, one at a time, in a period of like 4 days. the bulbs for the brakes are double filament...if the filament which comes on wen u hit the brakes is out then the warning light will come on. jus check to make sure u have four lights goin off wen u hit the brakes, and make sure the bulbs u replaced were pushed firmly into the socket.

I had that problem back in November the car was 2yrs old in late December. I use my lights all the time when driving since the U.S. model TL does not have DRLs. The tailight bulb went out on one side. I replaced all the rear tail/stop bulbs at that time. I had problems after that the dash indicator then light. I rechecked the bulbs it still remained lit. The dealer checked it & the indicator went out but before I could get hiome it came back on again. I took the car back to the dealer a couple of days later they had other warranty work to do. This was the heat element in the drivers seat. They rechecked & secured all bulbs & I have not had any problems since. The service advisor told me that you have to push the bulbs in very hard. Do a search on this post for the end of November or early December.

Well it turns out that the lights did not go out.

But the side that went out last time did the same thing. One bulb was out, so when I was checking it I took it out and put it back in and it worked again. About a week later, my friend was driving behind me, said my tail light was out. But my dash indicator was not on.

This time the dash indicator came on for a day, and I thought...Great...another bulb. But the next day when I had time to check it ....All the bulbs were on and the dash indicator was off....

Something weird is goin on back there

I agree with you about this the dealer told me that the bulbs were not secure. I thought I had put them in secure when I changed them. When I took it back to the dealer they replaced them again. I did not have an appointment but they did it in about 10mins for me & I was on the way back home. I had gone about 4 miles from the dealer in stop & go rush hour mourning traffic. The brake lamp indicator came on agian I did not go over any big bumps to jar anything. I called them when I got home & told them about this. I had an appointment the next week anyway to get my seat fixed so they fixed the lights again. When I first noticed the light was out it was one tailight bulb the dash indicator never came on. When I myself replaced the 4 bulbs & tag light bulb then the dash indicator came on. When I retured to the dealer the second time for my appointment for my seat heater. I restarted the car several times & noticed the dash light came on & stayed when I pushed the brake.

Ok to make things little easy I will try to make this short. The dashboard indicator only comes on when the brake is applied and the higher voltage filment is broken or like in few cases when the bulb is not all the way in. In case wheree your rear parking bulb is out, the indicator will not come on.
Thank you.....

P.S> Acura should do something similar to what my Volvos had. When a bulb was down, no matter where, light came on dashboard.
