Brake light out

My brake lamp bulb has been on for about a week now, but finally i checked and saw that one of my brake lights is out. if you are facing the trunk it is the left taillight and the left bulb. However, it still blinks when i lock the car and stays on when the headlights are on, it just doesnt light up when the brake is applied? What size bulb do i need to replace this? thanks.

I kind of have the opposite problem. One of the bulbs works with the brakes but wont work when I lock and unlock the car. Is the bulb out or is it another problem?

just a quick fyi, brake lamps usually have two filaments.. one for bright braking and one for tail lights with your headlights on. Thats why one or the other can go out and the other can still work.

I think the bulb is the 7443 for the sylvania ones. Not sure, since i got a replacement from my mechanic. He went digging thru a box for a similar one.

Check the relays in the under-the-hood fuse box. I previously had the same problem. They were about $9 to replace at the Acura dealership (you may need to have them order them).

Most likely a bulb. our bulbs are dual filament. One of them may be out. Pul them out and inspect them
