Ok, I start my car, all the console lights light up then dim down, then I put my foot on the brake to take it out of park and the red brake lamp light comes on in the console. It stays on until I shut off the car!!! I have checked all my bulbs and replaced two in the rear and It still will not go out.... What should I do, and what Can I do???
I dont have a warranty... so I probably gotta fix it myself...
Hope it doesn't cost a grip or I could reset it or something...

 

There are quite a few things that can set this sensor off. If you don't have the proper level of brake fluid, the brake light will come on. If you have a bad bulb connection, like most here have had, that will trigger the light also.

 

Make sure to check 3rd brake light located on the tray package!!!! (behind the sub)

 

If you don't have a spoiler, it probably is the third brake light.

It's not a big problem, I guarantee it's related to the bulb. IT HAS NOTHING to do with brake fluid. That's a different idiot light.

 

I will re-check all my bulbs again.... I probably need to get a friend to watch which bulbs do not light up when I press the pedel....

Is the same blulb, but it has two filaments(or what ever is called).

Yeah check when braking. The red brake lamp light on the console would not come on if the parking lights are bad, only when the braking lights are bad(when you applied the brakes) I know this for a fact.

 

You can check up for yourself. You don't need any friend's help.

Just back-up to any show room window, and see the deflection on your @SS.

 

LOL!!! I busted out laughing pretty hard reading that!! I'll go check them now...

 

I took all the bulbs out and inspected them, then turned the bulb over and snapped it into the connector good. The brake lamp light disappreared!! :wow: My car was wrecked before and I'm fixing all the little things that the previous owner didn't want to deal with. That's OK... I can deal with them I drive a TL!! I will be getting my membership here soon

I was going to tell you this I had the same problem with my car back in November. I replaced all the tail/stoplight bulbs when one went out. I drive with my headlights on all the time since the TL does not have DRLs. This is why I replaced all the bulbs at the same time. The indicator did not light at the time that I notice one light was out. When I replaced the 4 stop/tailight bulbs & started the car & pushed the brake thats when I got the red indicator light. I took it to the dealer & someone rechecked & put bulbs in & the indicator went out. I went about 3 miles from the dealer in stop & go traffic & the indicator came back on. I took it back a few days later for other warranty work that I had an appointment for & they fixed it again. On the invoice it said secured all light bulbs.
