Post boy, what 2 wire ties can do :)

remember my uneven Comptech Exhaust??

2 plastic tie wraps later and they're suddenly even.

It's amazing what I can get done when I have time...

Add that to the pipes I painted, and I'm a happy person

Ha Ha. My tires are Zip-ties closely packed together.

Hey Jason, since you have so much time on your hands, how about making me a grill?

If you think you want it done, stop by my house tomorrow and check mine out. If you decide to do it, I think I still have enough left to do another and I'll help you out.

If I don't have enough left, it's $5 at Karp's.

My only concern is the tip getting too hot and being too close to the bumper that it will melt...it does get quite hot...

I only matched the left to the right and the right has had no problems so far. Hopefully there will be no issues.

here's the before shot:

You should probably use metal wire so it doesnt melt

The tie is on the bracket to the rubber piece that holds the muffler up. It shouldn't get hot up there as it's not really close to the muffler.

Plus, I hope to get this truly "fixed" at my 15k service at Park Ave. I don't like this temp fix I did, but it looks a lot better for now.

damnit, the tie wrap snapped and I'm back to square one

I'll just wait to see if Park Ave Acura can correct it, I don't feel like climbing under the car again...

I just had a shop install mine (I tried to do it myself but the bolt wouldn't budge).

The exhaust is uneven. It looks very much like what that "prior to" picture with the left side lower than the right. umm... I was going to use the zip ties... but yours snapped? Man. Is there are solution to this??

Use wire as in speaker wire - that shouldn't snap.

Speaker wires do not have the locking mechanism unlike the zip ties. How do you make sure it won't come loose?

How about using those metal crimps that they use to fasten insulated pipes? They look just like plastic wire ties, but are made of stainless steel.

How about a hose clamp around the rubber hanger to tighten it up; that should work and would cost you about 99 cents if that, and be strong enough as well.

What about aluminum tape the kind they use to tape Dryer Ducts with. Those get really hot for hours and the tape never melts or breaks.

I used aluminum hose clamps that I got at Discount auto for like .89 a piece for my uneven mufflers. Worked like a charm.
