Bought it this weekend

My forum brothers,

I bought my SSM TL-S w/ Nav this weekend from Hopkins Honda in Redwood City, CA. I have to pick it up on Wednesday because they still need to put the under body kit.

Is there any specfic questions I should ask when I pick up my car?

Thanks for all you input on this forum. I love reading what you guys have to say about this car and now I can share and experience your enthusiasm for this great car.

My advise would be to read this forum and get a bunch of info, then do a walk-around of the car (typical delivery stuff).

Other then that... congrats, and try to keep it slow for the first 600-1000 miles!!

How much did the dealer charge you for the bodykit? You should've bought it from this site. It's much cheaper.

By the way, Welcome to the board!!!!!!!

Congrats and welcome to the Acura family!
FYI, just walk around the car and inspect everything to your satisfaction.

Congratulations on your car and welcome to the board.

And just like what everybody else said, walk around the car and give it a very good, thorough inspection. Also inspect the inside very closely and check your odometer, make sure its mileage is very low. Report any problems to the dealership immediately, and enjoy the car.

make sure you get the stock side skirts back...you paid for it when you bought the car, they did not give you any trade discount (did they?) and so they belong to you. the lip pieces for the bumpers are add-ons so your bumpers are still there ! also don't let them tell you that they are covered up by the new pieces...that is BS.

ask to see if they have the first oil change free. maybe ask if they offer acura loaners when you get major services. simple stuff if you care.

i too bought my kit at the dealer...i understand it is cheaper buying from snook, but i didn't want to do it myself and the pieces are covered under your car's longer warranty (4yr/50k vs. 1yr) when you buy at time of purchase.

anyway, congrats!

Thanks for the welcome guys.

Stanman, thanks for the input. I also bought the underskirt at the dealer because I didn't want to put it in myself. I'm glad to hear that it's under the warrenty.

Picked it up

I picked up my car yesterday, but the damn dealer still didn't have my underbody kit ready. Them bastards. I waited for 5 days for nothing. For the last 5 days I felt like I got screwed cuz I just spent $36K and nothing to show for it.

But after last night when I drove my puppy home, I knew why I spent that money. This is my first brand new car which I bought myself (no help from mommy or daddy or anybody, just good old fashion hard earned drug money hahah j/k) and the feeling is so different when you buy a brand new car. *tear*

Anyways, I'm very happy with my purchase, but I still don't feel complete without the under skirt. I feel like I bought a brand new suit, fitted and all and I'm ready to pick it up and wear it out, but I have white sport socks on.

My perception of the car image with me in it just isn't complete without the skirts.

Anyways, I'm feel good, but hella scared about getting my first ding, someone stealing my fog lights, stealing my "Type S", etc.

Your fogs are probably safe. What you have to worry about is those baby blue eyes.

I just got mine from the shop today. Make sure they have resolved the sunroof rattle issue and and make sure you check for rattling during a little test run.

Also, check for stray paint. I found a paint stain on the inner window trip (the black metal part) that was done at the factory. Its about 2 in x 1 in. They dealership said I will have to make another appointment so they can take it to a body shop.

Otherwise, congrats. You'll love the feel of the car.

Congrats on the purchase and welcome to the forum. As stated earlier, make sure you ask for your side skirts back. On getting the body kit....Very Wise decision!

Hey rominl,

Just noticed your sig doesn't say what color your TL-S is! Curious minds want to know!
