I've been lurking around for more than a year now, but finally bought a leftover 2003 TL-S last Thursday, black / ebony. Now I'm officially joining the forum.

Thanks. Forgot to mention, I got it with the navi. I was originally looking for Agean Blue, but it was impossible to find anything like that. Black is nice too. BTW, I paid 29,300.

If it's a Type S, I'm sure that was a steal back then so you still got a deal!

Well, I mean I got it for 30,010, but come on now, I shopped for these cars back in 99 and they weren't going ne where cheap like this. And also, look when we got it, the new 2004 model is comming out, atleast you guys gotta drive your TL's on the road for a long time before a new model came out, I had mine about a month now, and I have to envy the new TL... so lets not all feel too bad here.

BTW I got the TLS with Nav.. WDP.

I'm very close to buying a new '03 TL-S no Nav. for $27,150. It's the best value out there for the money. I was planning on buying an '04 Accord EX-L, but the TL, even an old model, has that "something special" about it.

I don't think you can normally buy an Acura $2000 below invoice, it happens once every 5 years, when there's a generation change. They're clearing the lot to make room for the 2004 model. It's an incredibly advantageous opportunity, you can get a TL-P non navi for the price of a V6 Accord. Provided you can find anything at all, because dealers don't get any more cars, they're just selling the leftover off the lot.

There's a $1500 manufacturer to dealer incentive now. I think this explains why I got it so cheap -- everybody can get this price today. I was just lucky that I didn't buy it earlier, but still did it in time. One more week, and people will have trouble finding a 2003 model at all, let alone picking their color.

eyesnake02, I got 20 miles when I bought it, and now have about 200. Yeah, I had an unexpected task at work this past weekend, I yet have to go for a joy ride. And I only commute 4 miles normally in one direction.

Are there tranny problems w/ the 03's type s. The dealer said they fixed the problems with a new tranny and ecu. He said my vin # is outside the fix. Should i be concerned?

Nope, we don't have any record of tranny problems with the newer ones. I'm at 17k and still beaten on it and it's fine. I checked with my dealer when I got my last oil change and they haven't had any reports. We're definitely in the clear, that's what made me go ahead and purchase it. I'm glad I did!
