Bose trouble

I posted this problem a couple months ago and now it seems to be getting worse. My sterio does the craziest thing. Every so often I will hear a sudden feedback from the speakers and immediately after that the vloume of the sterio will shoot up to the highest and then come back down to normal. Scares the ****ens out of me and I nearly wrecked the car once as a result. Lately I noticed that the sounds will suddenly shift from one side of the car to the other almost like someone was playing with the balance knob when nobody is.

So my question is - does this sound like a problem with the unit, electrical system or speakers?

Is my car possesed? Do I need an excorsist? Will Stephen King's next novel be called TL.

sounds to me like you need an HU (head unit) replacement. It could either be a short circuit causing this problem, or your head unit is defective.

I use to think I had the same problem with my stereo also. Turns out it was my cell phone that was the culprit causing weird feedback. I use to keep the phone right underneath the change bin and every now and then get static feedback, it's even worse when i get phone calls or try to use it, i just turn off the radio whenever i make calls or receive calls....it's a bummer. I have a Motorola V60 with AT&T service but I have heard of others with different phones and service experiencing the same issue. I don't feel it's a problem, but just frequency interference. Head unit by the way, is the main component of your stereo.

Look at where you insert your CD player, now look at the function buttons (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6), that basically is the whole unit. That whole piece would come right out. It's the Head Unit.

is your car still under warranty??? That for sure should be covered. If not, I would go to Acura, and have them figure out what the problem is. If it is a short circuit, or bad HU, then they can get you a new one.

Honestly though, this might be a good time to consider trashing the $hitty blose system, and putting something aftermarket. Get something with tweeters, to give a very rich sound, put a nice 10-12 inch sub in the trunk, and upgrade the speakers. Then buy yourself a nice MP3-CD player for a head unit.

Car is out of warranty, and I have seen these units go for a hundred bucks on Ebay.

I would love to get something better; especially with a CD changer. This unit however seems kind of large. Do they make units that would fill up all that space?

you can buy a new mounting unit (adapter), that basically fills the gap of whatever's left. Lots of ppl have TV's in dash, and have mounts to cover up the empty space...do some research and get a good CD changer.
