Bosch Platinum +2 spark plugs

I'm thinking of redoing my plugs because I'm getting pretty bad overall gas mileage on my 03 S, only about 300-310 miles on a full tank until the gas light goes on. Anyone every hear of there or try them? According to them they:

The Bosch Platinum+2 offers revolutionary firing technology, which combines the advantages of 2 nickel-yttrium ground electrodes, a pure platinum center electrode and surface air gap technology for optimum engine performance, smoother acceleration and better gas mileage.

Product Features:
  • Revolutionary firing technology, featuring multiple spark paths, delivers a longer, more powerful spark for optimum engine performance
  • Offers smoother acceleration, better gas mileage and optimum engine performance
  • 2 yttrium-enhanced ground electrodes provides optimum access to the air/fuel mixture for more efficient combustion and a longer performance life

Now the only thing that I'm worried about is the fact that they have 2 firing points and are not gapped like traditional plugs, they just have 2 open spark paths at the tips.

stick with ngk plugs. how many miles are on the car? it made need a valve adjustment to restore gas mileage. run seafoam in the gas too to help clean things out too.

NGK Iridium IX is what we need..or ngk Iridium
about 8 bucks each and good for 60-70kmiles

no Laser--thats just how the end is welded on--not required for our use

no to bosch or anything else, even the approved denso cost more and last fewer miles!

I did check them at 110K (So says the Manual) but there were no Misadjustment.
By the time i re-check them at 130K there were some difference in the Intake Valves.
And yes my TL-S only sees Highway Miles so im not concern is already 168,000K Old hehehe 80% of them is Highway Miles.
PD: I need to change the Timing Belt Combo but im too lazy now...
HAPPY NEW YEAR BTW!

did you adjust the valves to perfect spec? or just within the limits?
odd to be perf at 105 and out at 130~

seafoam is a good friend in gaining mileage and restoring clean to the operating parts

168 is nothing for miles on a TL,,get the timing belt on there soon!!

300-350 miles to the low fuel light is perfectly normal mixed driving
You still have 3 gallons in the tank at low light

people forget to clean the TB air plate- that makes the car go!!
PCV sends crud at it constantly,,carb cleaner works to remove

no need to change the TL oil every 3500 miles unless those are track day miles!!
any decent oil 5000, most oils 7500, synthetics 7500-15kmiles with filter change midway

Our super MOD fsttyms1 (Fast Times Won) did 15kmiles oil changes and engine was like new inside at 200--in 4 years of driving!! plus same car used on track,,a lot

Yeah i did Check them like a 1000! times before putting the Valve Cover back on, I Dont now if its Odd lol I just tought that was OK since I barelly push it? Perhaps driving like a Grandma changes something? Surely I can say I have only heard VTEC 5-10 times since I got the car, That slow is how i drive

Im slowly but Sure getting all the parts to do the Timing Belt again but damn they cost a hefty from the Dealer. Can I buy everything from Gates Instead??? Im like that people that thinks OEM is the only way.

BTW! Seafoam Every change of Oil!! Always.
I only Use "Mobil 1 Extended Performance 5W-20" < I think is Fully Syn?? since my brother Works for Mobil Co. I save 3 bucks per Quart anytime of the Year!

prestige acura in santa rosa ca is where Kaleb has the $295 special and will swap parts around to suit you
he includes cam seals but few diyrs use them, so get a thermostat or valve cover gaskets instead from him--he will design a package for your needs and special price
He says the $295 is substantially less than what they charge customers for the parts on the 105 service
call or PM and mention acurazine

gates parts are great- I will use their belts with no worries, and wp are pretty good

the acura waterpump lasted this long, so I trust its design and would use OE for that
certain part

I would spend the money on timing belt tensioner and roller pulley plus the ac tensioner pulley will need replacement at some point--now is good while everything is apart

seafoam in oil- every change or every other is excellent to use,
add 1.5 oz per qt oil or roughly half a can to full oil level,
drive at least 30 minutes solid for max cleaning and drain while warm so the liquified sludge will come out

on thread subject-
look at the bosch and compare to the fine wire used on the NGKs for us
the coil on plug ignition is high powered and subject to firing resistance

acura approved denso and ngk, and comes with the ngk,,
platinum was stock- gen3 uses iridium which is better and ok for gen2

members have tried bosch and get poor running problems--replaced after 6 months with ngk and car is back on track

I Actually used "Bosch +4 Ir Fusion" they would get me good MPG but I feeled a loss in Power by the top end (When i Downshifted in hilly steps? dunno if its top end lol) I didnt feel the tipical Punch in power like i used to, Switched to NGK Iridium X everything was back to Normal.

Here its a pic when i throw the Bosch with only 5K maybe?

no, just the correct one!!
the only choice is between the stock Platinum or the upgraded Iridium IX
I think the irids actually cost less now!

the exact plug number differs between type P and type S engines,
the S motors run 1 step colder plug iirc

usa price approx 8 dollars each- minus any coupons or specials found, ck canadian tire for them
the plugs are good for 60-70kmiles ,thats many years for most

dont use some 2 buck plug instead!!!- I dont care what the parts guy or website says
`Fitting` and being the correct plug are very different,,as the pics above clearly show,,5000 miles and those are looking very loaded up, not firing properly, probaly slight engine miss...

So I went into Autozone the other day with a friend beacuse he needed to get something and I asked the guy behind the desk what NGK plugs they sold

they told me

Ngk-Ix-Iridium

Ngk-Laser-Iridium

Ngk-Laser-Platinum

Ngk-Gp-Platinum

Ngk-V-Power-Copper

I already have my plugs but just for the hell of it I pretended like I was actually going to buy some and he said O yea just go with the NGK-GP-Platinum, you can get these and be fine, so they try to sell you anything basically

If you drive like a granny why even purchase a car that is for "driving". Should have bought a Lexus ES350

Hondas are meant to rev. you aren't taking care of it if you don't burn the carbon out oft it. You're doing more damage than good driving that hi-revving v6 like a crown Victoria you should be driving... . I'm joshing with you a little... Enjoy that TL. It will surprise you. The engine revving to 7000rpm is as entertaining as you favorite classical cd...lol.
