Body Shop Problems What should she do?
Ok check this out this is kinda long. sorry!
Well my friend has had her 1999 TL for a couple of months now. Well the other day she decides to take a cruise and ends up hitting some dude. She got a big peel in her bumper, along with some big scratches on the bumper, and her headlight pushed in a little, slightly making an almost unnoticable bend on the fender.
I referred her to the same body shop I got my Bodykit painted at because although they were slow, they were able to duplicate my paint perfectly. Since she didnt have rental coverage on her insurance, the body shop was kind enough to let her borrow one of their cars, the guy said he would take care of everything and get some $$$ in her pocket.
To make a long story short yesterday, we went back to the bodyshop to turn in some insurance paperwork, so I peeked in the work area, and WHAT A SURPRISE!!! Her hood was folded down at the corner, the fender was bent in, the headlight was missing, and the bumper was mysteriously in the same condition. I kept my mouth shut, because I know they're gonna make her car look better than when she got it. But what would you guys do If you was in that situation?

I told her
ok I told her. She's furious, she wants to report them, but then I reminded her of the $$$ the dude said he was gonna give her. I know most body shops pull this kind of$hit. What do you guys think we do?

Just ask how the car is coming along and what the eta is until the car is repaired...
If you report them, I think both your friend and the shop would be charged with fraud, since you said she would be getting money out of the deal as well.

Let them do whatever they have to do. You said yourself they do quality work. Maybe they have to do a bit of fabrication to get to the areas they need to fix. Wait until it is all finished and inspect the final result. If it looks good as new as they promised, let it go, if not, raise a stink.

u should just let the body shop do what they have to do! and the reason why u probably saw the car with the folded hood is because the body shop is trying to make the car more fu**ed up than it is, so they can get more $$ from the ins. so just chill n let the body shop do it's thang!

That's insurance fraud. That's a crime!!! :wow:
Report them to the insurance or consumer affair and pull the car out of there. If the insurance company finds out, she gets into a trouble, too.
