I did some investigating today at work and I can get these adapters for $60.00 with no shipping from one of my suppliers. That was the cheapest price that I have found so far. If anybody needs the Blitzsafe adapter you can send me a message and I will set something up with you. I know its something alot of you want for your car and if I can provide a little service for the members I don't mind doing it.

haha good luck getting it if they have to order it...

I havent used my cd player since either.

Another cool feature is that the product charges your ipod for 20 minutes after your car shuts off and uses minimal battery to do so

how does this connect to the ipod?

does it have an ipod jack that plugs to the bottom, or do I go in the headphones jack - the blitzsafe website only talks about auxiliary adapters no mention of an ipod interface

The auxiliary adapter comes out of the back of your radio and into a small box that will be hidden in your dash. Then from the box to the bottom of the IPOD. Sounds real good IMO and charges it. I also got the Proclip and have my IPOD mounted to the right side of the stereo. Still a little work I wanna do with that to hide the wire a little more, but there are tons of different ways of doing it.

I just finished installing mine. Once I got passed the being scared shit of breaking something, the install went pretty easy. 15 minutes and I was done. Just as others have said, it sounds great.

Now all I have to do is order my pro clip.

Definately worth it.

Wait a sec.
Will the Blitzsafe fit a 2002 tols cd radio with no changer?? I don't have one?
Also the wire that connects to the IPOD, is it black or white??
I have the Kuda mount already , I just need the blitzsafe. Any other parts required?

You don't have a cd changer but you should have the option for it if you have the stock TL radio. There will be a spot for a 14 pin connector right next to the main harness. As for the color of the wire, I think it depends on where you order from. Mine was black which I like because I have black interior.

I just ordered it, and I can't wait. They are the only ones I know who have the black wire.

I just ordered one too. Where did you get your mount at? I'm looking at www.kudausa.com and it costs $75. $56 mount +$10 holder +$9 shipping. Kind of expensive for an ipod holder.

u can get a braketron ipod holder from Bestbuy for $20...its not custom but if ur pretty good with a saw and ur car u can cut the metal piece (which is what is instructed to do in the manual) so it fits right between the wood trim and the radio...i just drilled a few screws into the radio to secure it as well. if ur interested i could post pics later or tomorrow

I just got this yesterday and installed it in 1999 3.2 TL with navigation right away. It is working great!!!!!

The installation was really easy painless. I did not have to remove the knee panel on the driver's side - just removing wood trim was enough. I removed the wood trim, took out the center console and removed the knee pad. The CD-changer port is available from there but it was a bit tricky to get my hands in it with the blitzsafe connector and putting it in.

The only "quirk" is that iPod doesn't start playing automatically when the Car is turned on (but I knew that already). I am wondering if the latest generation of iPod have any feature that makes it start playing automatically when "power" is turned on - or something like that.

thanks,
Osho

It might be expensive but nothing and I mean nothing fits, works or looks like the KUDA mount. I have a black leather one in my S-Type with a KUDA holder. It fits my 30g IPOD perfectly and hold it very snug. I also like the fact that I can tuck the wire from the Blitzsafe adapter inside along the bottom edge for a supper clean look with no wires showing untill it pops out up by the actual Ipod itself. Every person that has seen it has the same thing to say about it - awesome. Also a side note. The mounting surface of the KUDA mount angles slightly toward the driver for a nice clean easy to read view of the display without sun glare.

Do you have any pics of your install? I'd like to see how well the wires were hidden on your setup. Right now I have the proclip and I am not really happy with it. I checked out the KUDA site and the mount looks real nice, now I would just need to get the black IPOD to match the black interior. Any pics would be great if you don't mind.

snowman go to the begining of the thread. I started this thread a few months ago and the pictures of my KUDA mount are still available to view. I get a ton of complements on the KUDA mount. It looks like a stock mount...almost like the Ipod belongs in the car.

BTW...Just get a nice black case to match. That's what I did...

I received my Kuda mount today but all I got was this....
I was suppose to get the Ipod mount with it too but they forgot to ship it. The mount doesn't look/feel like leather to me. Seems like its vinyl. Can you guys tell from the picture? Also, was there suppose to be something attached to the mount so I can attach the ipod mount to it?

Ok... How can I go about displaying the IPOD interface on my NAV screen, as well as the video files of my IPOD? Is there an adapter for that? Thanks!

So there is a cd changer adapter on the 03 TL that also has a 6 disc changer in dash? If so the Monster Icruze would work. Has anyone used the Icruze or know how it works with a 03 TL?

It sounds like crap using the fm mod. or the input between the antena and stereo. It may sound nice if you get a aux in converter from Blitzsafe but i do not know. I got it installed and started it and uninstalled it and gave it back. That was before i had found the blitzsafe stuff but that makes it very expensive.

I got my Blitzsafe and am about to install it, will my cd player still work the indash one?

How do I switch between the Ipod and the CD player once it is installed, the instructions say press cd button, so will it bypass my cd player and make it useless, I would like use of the cd player as well as the Ipod.

Thanks!

You're cd player won't be useless. The CD button toggles radio, cd1, cd2 so you're ipod will play on cd2 and it will say 1-99 on the radio when you are playing your ipod. All other functions will work the same but you won't be able to control your ipod from you're steering wheel.

Yup, you will be fine. All you do is plug it in and it works great. Like it has been said, just use the CD button to switch between the indash CD changer and your iPod.

So Blitzsafe is the best way to integrate an Ipod? How did you remove the trim, panel? all it is a clip that you need to connect? Do you need to mount it anywhere in the back? Thanks

ok, here you go. It is the best beacuse you get very good sound and it is very easy. Many of us have mounted it like shown earler in this thread with a Kuda mount (www.kudausa.com) beacuse you still have to control the iPod from the iPod (not the radio as in some cars, sorry). All you need to do is remove the passenger side panel of the console and reach behind your stero and plug in the blitzsafe into the open jack. Here is a pdf you can go to to tell you how to remove your console. You can just remove the passenger side or if you have to, remove the whole radio. Up to you but my large hands got it plugged in.
http://www.skyeflye.com/acura_cls/In...01-2003_CL.pdf

Good luck and if you need any help, PM me.

Also look at the Neo iOn at mp3yourcar.com. Works just as well as the Blitzsafe.

Now there are 2 options. What kit is better then the other? I see the removal of the panels is easy but now it looks like I have 2 options, where does this connection go into?

They both work. Connection goes in the back, lower, right as you face the HU.

used with rockbox?

Hi,

Has anyone used this with rockbox? I have been using this inerface for 3-4 months now. I am getting really tired of iPod not automatically starting to play when I turn on my car. Has anyone use this interface with iPod running rockbox (http://www.rockbox.org/)? If so, have you been able to configure iPod to start playing automatically when the Car starts ?

thanks,
Osho

From the pictures, the yellow blitzsafe unit looks quite large. Where does that go? Can you also run the wire from the back of the stock unit into the center console? This way I can hide my ipod inside the center console.

Its not that big, you can put it under or behind your head unit. The cord should be long enough to go about anywhere you want in the car. Not the trunk, but close.
