3G>2G<4G<1G
The 1G does nothing for me, its too plain. The 4G looks like a space ship yes, but looks the most like a luxury sedan. The 2G has the best lines&looks great when its modded, and the 3G is beautiful in every way, inside&out.

So this thread should be a stock for stock comparison rather than modded. If you compare modded cars this thread will just show the people who went above and beyond. Aka 02actclean, viptl.... Well idk any 1g or 4g owner user names lol, but there are plenty of owners.

Like i said 3g+ no jdm versions... 2g= 3.2tl, type s, inspire, saber. I know there be a lot of 3g guys calling their shIt jdm. 2g wins timeless body, 3g is sporty and got better 07-08, 4g is well... New lol.

^agree... I love the 3G and wish I had gotten it for the Mrs., but we found a clean 2000 3.2TL for the right price and couldn't resist. First TL we've owned and I fell in love even though it needed and still needs some TLC.

When it comes to comparing stock for stock, I give it to the 3G. But if you are into modding, I'd go with the 2G. My wife is actually interested in doing a 6speed swap into her 2G if the trans goes out

The 3rd gens look great without any mods.

4th gens look like an executives car

2nd gens are easy to work on and the right transmission in the car makes it a solid auto.

Your probably right about the engine, but the engines in all models are the best part of the car.

Rims are a different story 3rd and 4th gen and 2nd gen tl-s mpdels come stock with some nice rims.

The 2nd gen tl rims just beg you to put on a different set.

1st gens have looked old for years now.

2nd generation with the 2 slghtly different front ends (headlights) both have a absolute classic look. Some 2nd gens have been driven for last 15 years and still look like a new design to those that dont follow acura or cars as close.

3rd gens look bad imo. The design/front end and much of the rest of the bodys style doesnt do it. Dont like the headlights or alot of the rest of the design. Not down with the tsx look.

4th gens look attractive. More futuritic cockpit and gadgets, large chrome on the front end with the acura symbol look cool. Back end of car has sophisticated styling, you can tell they put alot of thougt into its lines.

Acura's seats overall are nice but I would like to see them get something better, some of the other luxery car brands have come up with some better and cooler front seats.

^lol you must be on crack.

but all is subjective and I respect your opinions, even tho the 3G TL looks better than the 2G.

My personal preference... 3G > 2G > 4G

If I had the money right now, I'd buy a 2008 NBP Acura TL Type S and be the happiest man alive.

having driven the last 3 generations of TL, IMHO the 3rd gen cars are the most fun to drive out of all the TL. With that said, I think the 2nd gen CL-S is an awesome road trip car...

I respect your opinions as well. But come on the 3g tl kinda looks like the front end of a pontiac

In no way does a 3G TL front end look like anything that came out of Pontiac, ever.

Personally i never liked 3g's without the oem kit because they look funny and bulky. 07-08 tails look way better than 04-06.
4g's are pretty darn sexy with a kit, wheels, and a drop.

What more can be said ?
Obviously everybody has the right to their own opinion....Maybe try the same general question within the 3rd or 4th Gen forums !!!

I still think that the original 1st Gens are very under-rated and unfortunately not very well represented.

its a personal opinion. and most people are going to favor their car that they own. with most of you favoring the 2G, since..................this is the 2G section. shocker, i know.

out of the 2 distinct styles in the 2nd gen series, which had the better front end? the original or the next style with the bigger headlights?

the next style with the bigger headlights. its more modern and far more attractive.
I'm used to seeing my friends '99 all the time and then when I saw a 2002, I creamed.

02-03 TL over 99-01 for sure. I honestly mistake the 99-01 TL front end for a 98-02 Accord from a distance more often than not. Too similar in my opinion.

Going back to the different generations, I prefer the simple body lines of the 2G TL. I mean TL is Touring Luxury right? Not really meant to be a sports sedan like the 3G is marketed. Plus the TL is FWD so honestly how sporty can you get (without going balls out racecar with slicks and massive weight reduction)? If I wanted a sports sedan I would get something with RWD/AWD and lots of power/potential, like a 335, STI, or Evo. Oh wait....

^ i was looking at G35s but boy do they look outdated now.
yes, the driving dynamics suck. but ive mildly modded my 6mt 3rd gen and its pretty fun!
just adapt to the characteristics of the fwd!
its very sporty and elegant at the same time. I do like the roided out civic analogy tho!

Lol! I wouldn't know :p

Hmmm can we throw in the jdm and edm versions of our cars?
Cuz the Honda inspire had a lot of nice perks for it's time.

Just sucks that the 2g never came in a stick from the factory.

Infiniti (Nissan) in general are big pieces of garbage, but hey that just my opinion.

If i could get any TL right now and money wasn't a problem, it would be a 2003 TL-S in Aegean Blue Pearl. Such a beautiful car, and by far, in my opinion again, the best color.
