Hi! I just got my Acura TL-S last week and i am thinking of upgrading to Cold Air Filters.I was wondering what would be a good brand, AEM Filters, HKS, Injen Tech, DC Sports or others.

And why would you suggest and how much would it increase in horsepower.

 

I have the AEM CAI...you only hear a hissing sound at idle, nothing while driving normal and then when the VTEC kicks in it roars. The acceleration is definitely better...I can't comment on the other brands though...haven't seen or heard them.

 

what do u mean hissing sound at idle???....is it loud...???

cause if i wanna upgrade my TL-S(my dads actually i'm 15) with AEM CAI...if i make the engine louder at idle...i wont be allowed to do it... is there alotta noise difference bewteen the CAI and non-CAI at idle???

being loud when stepped on is always a good thing...and makes ur heart pump a lil faster tooo...

the Orginal engine sound at idle is close to silence...so...i need to kno how loud it is...thanx

 

wait.. at the age of 16, you'll be getting your first car, which is a '02 TL-S?

It's not rediculous...you won't hear it from in the car only when standing outside of it. All you hear is the filter sucking in air.

 

whats not right???... i feel very good when i drive the type s...its so much better then what we had before....a 88 FORD TEMPO...haha quite an upgrade...but omg...after driving that pieceof junk for about 2 years...ANY CAR seems faster and sportier...so i never complain about the car...lol...

is there a problem with a 16 year old driving the TL-S??? well it wont be my officiial first car...but then it will be when i get older and my dads done with it...and i'll rice it up nicely..hehehe jk jk a TL is not meant to be like that...

hey thanx for the answers to my questions...now i need to negotiate my dad into lowering and putting the CAI in... sways my dad approved....lol....its so fun owning an acura

 

oh ok, I was under the impression (from your planned mods) that as soon as you turned 16 and got your license, you would also be getting the TL-S as your first car.

lol his BABY??!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!? man i wash it more then him...lol...and i was the one who did all the reseach about the cars...and came up with a conclusion....lol....hehehe

he probably wont give it to me untill i'm 18 or so... so i guess no luckk....
