I'd say go with the Viper. I just got mine installed and it works great. Plus you can get some good deals on Ebay. Go with a name you can trust. You dont want anything messing up the ignition in your car.

viper has lifetime warranty so that is a plus in my book. my mom's remotes acted up and both had to be replaced. good thing that they have been around and will continue to be! i have never had a prestige alarm but if the bottom line is important then go with it.

Personally I went with the viper 791 over some prestige alarms (the salesman was to anxious to sell a prestige alarm). I don't have any regrets but overall they are all designed to do the same thing. I just want my alarm to go off when someone is messing with my car. It's really up to you, all cellphones do the same thing, ring to let you know someone is calling. Do you really need a 2 mile range or 5 channel outputs. I would go the cheaper route. Even with an alarm I know people who will still break into your car, it only takes 30 secs to pull out an aftermarket radio. 2 secs to push the trunk release button and another minute to rip your box out of your trunk. Just be smart about the other security precautions that you can take. Make everything as stealth as possible and don't go blasting your system in your hood.
