Slow start after new tranny

I got my car back from the dealer today with my 1st tranny replacement and I noticed my car doesnt start up a fast as before. It hesitates a bit more. Has anyone noticed? Is it normal?

The latest trannies (my fifth and last included, now driving a brand new 05 RL) are geared differently accoording to Acura. Mine felt a little slower on 'launch' as well, but it wasn't bad.

the trannies are not geared differently! other than a new ecu being installed and having to learn all over there is no reason that the car doesnt start up as fast! i know! im on my 4th tranny!

Actually, the new ECU has new shift points programmed into it which does seems to give the impression of slower starts off the gate, if you are anything other than WOT.

Problem solved.........dead battery. Brought the car back this morning and they replaced my battery no questiosn asked!!!

Paragon Acura Service has treated me great since day one. I know everyone doesnt feel the same but everytime i have a problem they take care of it without any hassles.

Thanks everyone for your insight.

mine was identical after teh ecu, and shift points dont have any thing to do with starting.

the guy that is installin my tranny told me that when i get it back it will seem a lil slower because of the new shift patterns. they did this so their isnt that much of a kick in 3rd gear to creat tranny problems. they did it to prevent the problem from happenein faster. Its the new modified one wit the oil jet kit installed already. Jus make sure u baby the tranny for a few thousand miles. You still neeed to break it in just a lil bit.

I looked at what they did and the new tranny doesnt have the oil jet kit. I looked at the bolt and it says atf. If i remember correctly the oil jet kit was there before.

They replaced the engine front mount, ecu, and tranny. Maybe its just me but it looks a lot more spacious in that area, like it was gutted out.

the new trannies aer suppoed to have it built in or something done internal so it doesnt need the jet kit they are sticking on cars that need it

I kinda of figured it was something they changed internal

It does shift a lot smoother than before........You can feel the shifting but it doesnt feel slower like some say. Lets see after it breaks in.

You really know ur stuff bro. The battery would have never crossed my mind if the tranny is slow. What is the correlation fsttyms1?

I think he installed the latest tranny by himself because he had gone over the mileage when it crapped out.

there is no corelation, he just stated that his car started slower, not accelerated slower. just reminded me of a battery that was loosing its cold cranking amps.

as for my tranny, yup im on my 4th.. i installed it myself. i wont give acura teh money for a new one that will more than likely die. first made it to like 75k, 2nd made it to 115 (acura covered under good grace- what ever) 3rd made it to like 159k. hopefully this one makes it to 200k. i kept the old one and ordered new parts. im going to rebuild it myself (ill be probably the only one on the forum with a "SPARE" tranny laying around
