Best Battery for the price and Problems

Hey guys, the other day my battery died and i had to get jumped,,no big deal,,, the odd thing was i left nothing on(lights ect.) and it was fine up untill that point. This was about a week and half ago, i have been driving daily and every time i try to start the car it struggles for a few seconds then ends up starting. In my past automobiles when my battery had bit the dust it wouldn't continue starting everyday like this one(obviously). I thought maybe it was a problem with the charging system, where it only charges the battery to a certain point (which happens to be just enough to turn the engine over) then quits. Not sure, i just don't want to go out and buy a new battery if this is common problem. But if i need a new battery anyone have any suggestions? ,, i may be running a 500 watt JL system this winter if that means anything. Thanks alot

I think autozone will test your alt for free if you ask them. As far as a new battery I just go to wal-mart to get them. They are cheap, 2 year free replacement warranty. I have had the same luck with those as ones I have bought at autozone. If you want to get a tough battery get on odyssey. Mine was recently discharged while my car was at the dealership and it was reading 4 volts. They wanted to just throw it in the trash but I got it back and charged it and I was able to get it charged back up! They are supposed to last around 8 years too.

Costco has some of the best batteries (made my Johnson Controls who also does the Diehard golds). They have a great warranty and a great replacement policy. Plus it's Costco and they will take anything back I have used them for the last 5 years and will never go back to anything else.

Later,
Paul

My car dies on me every few months or so. Mine is the radiator fans. They sometimes stay on after I shut the car down.

Took her in at least twice, maybe three times to both Honda and Acura dealerships, they never find anything, they think I'm just some retard with loose battery connections (when I've made sure they're tight myself). I'm convinced it's my radiator fan switch, but from the schematics I've seen, there are two possible switches, and the few times I've asked here which one I should replace, it's hard to get an answer.

Anyway, I replaced the battery one time, with an Interstate from Sam's Club. Works good so far. I admit I'm a bit of a Bobby Labonte fan.

Go with the Optima - most places offer a 3 year free replacement and something like a 72 month pro-rated warrenty also they will give your audio system extra power to draw from when it needs it (like when you hit a deep bass note).

I'm also considering getting a new battery real soon, and I dont know which one is best for me.

I'm conisdering putting in an in-dash navigation system, like an Eclipse or Pioneer system, and I also listen to alot of music, so will the Optima battery be good enough?

Does autozone still stock the optimas where you guys are at? Here in vegas all the autozones and pep boys quit carrying optimas. Honestly gamezilla it seems to me like alot of people put too much importance in the battery as far as powering accessories. When your car is on all your stuff is running off your alternator so if you are using enough power to dip into your battery then your slowly killing your alt anyway, so a high output alt would probably be a better investment in that case. The way I look at it now is your paying the extra money for a battery that will last a few years longer and not require that you monitor the water level. If you play your stereo alot with the car off then you definately want to get a deep cycle optima or odyssey.
