Bent ANOTHER rim!!!!!

OK, this is getting ridiculous. I just bent ANOTHER STINKING RIM. I'll have to say the roads in Hawaii SUCK D**K! I just got finished fixing the other set of rims I had on the car and now I have a bent BR5 to deal with. Oh well, it's not bent that bad. I'll probably just leave it, since it's got a chromed lip, I'm pretty sure it's not fixable. Lowenhart said they don't re-hoop. Just wanted to vent

Does the fact the rim got bent has anything to do with the quality of the rim itself? Or just the fact that Hawaii roads really sucks.

Do you have any pics of this ride of yours?

you can take it to a shop and have them (of you) hammer that down with a plastic covered hammer. Also, know that the metal stretched and will never be perfect but it could be close enough.

sry to hear it.

Tell you the truth, I really think the Lowenharts were pretty strong. A lot of people told me they were "soft", but I went over a bigger pothole, and experienced a lot less damage than with my previous SSR's.

If you want to check out pictures of my baby (before she stubbed her toe, check out "More pictures from the show" in the 2nd Gen pictures forum. You probably wouldn't see the bend in the rim unless you were looking for it BUT I KNOW IT'S THERE *#?!!*^#!

I dont know what the laws are in hawaii, but i've had many friends bend their rims on city streets and what we usually do is sue the city. They pay for a brand new rim so you can keep the money and do whatever you want with it. As long as you have pictures of the street and what caused the bend, you most definitely will get paid by the city.

Rim fixed....hail to Clyde, the rim fixing god

Omigosh, Thanks a bunch for your well-wishing guys! I got my rim back on Monday, and it was as good as new! Turns out, there were three more bends on the inside, one of which was pretty bad. Makes me wish I had taken some pictures, but Clyde fixed it, even the one on the outside lip, without cracking the chrome. Hallelujah!!
