It was a benchmark day for my TL

We have rewritten the annuls of history, and hit 3 digits.

Two things:

1. You have to be going at least 20 mph for it to be accurate.
2. It's adjustable. If it's always high or low you can adjust it to be correct.

my TL is hit or miss, I never know if it is going to read the accurate temp or not, somedays it is dead on the next, not even close. My 3 series BMW is dead on correct every day, what gives?

Mine read 113 today. After driving a while it settled at 96 which is what it was outside. (houston tx, where it's so hot, you have to air our the car for a while or else the leather seats burn your ass)

What is accurate? Flip through your local tv channels during the local news, you will see them reporting different temps for the same time period. Drive down a major road and see how many banks are reporting the temps. Bet they are all not the same. Most all readings are going to be off from the "actual" tempature.

Mine ALWAYS reads too hot... 100-105 is typical... when it's likely low-mid 90's...

Mine is always close with the weather.com forecast, and most of the bank's temps.

Man, thats its. 104. Shit your lucky. Iv hit 117 before. Not sure where they read that from. I mean it was prob 103 outside minus hunidity, but either way it read 117. Man like some have said, we have to air the car out b4 we sit. I mean sometimes i have to turn the car on for 15 min to atleast get the inside temp to a drivable level. then by the time i get home the car cooled off. After an hour drive. Gotta love it though. Id take the heat over the snow anyday though.

I am sure its about the same around here in the summer. We have days with 75-80% humidity and 100+ heat, but my car is rarely outside on days like that.

I know what you mean on that. My interior is ebony and that does not help. Glad I got remote start though.

If your car is sitting in the sun baking, will the temp gauge read higher because the car is being fried like an egg....

Mine seems to be accurate, after the car's been rolling awhile.

The manual says if you're stopped, heat from the road and from the tailpipe of the car in front of you (if you're close) will affect the temperature reading. The guage is in the front bumper. You have to be moving to get an accurate outside temp reading in your car.
