bedliner oil pan????

So it has been said that bedliner is 10x stronger than steel? So has anyone here tried sanding our oil pans and actually applying the roll on bed liner in order to protect the oil pan from the cast aluminum crap it really is?? If so, any input?

Are you serious?? I think not even god will prevent the oil pan from cracking when a +3000lb car supports it's weight on its fragile thin walls.

Have you tried making a custom skid plate? A reinforced 3mm steel plate should do the trick.

yea ive looked into that as well, but id need hood spacers, tranny spacers, engine spacers and lots of labor so that those extra 3mm of steel wont just bottom out and hit everything constantly. Or is it really that durable that you can ram it and itll still be solid??? if so, im sold! lol

I highly doubt any sheet of metal will survive a +3000lb hit, The skid plate will survive more scraping though..
But hey! that's the wonders of being lowered man.

a recent Mythbusters episode coated a whole car in that bedliner material and ran the car into things and crashed other heavy objects into it

Result = minor parking lot dings on door no longer a daily occurrence!!
Hard hits, no improvement in strength

However it can be used as a blast deterrent on concrete walls- in war zones
