I've had my TL for 4 yrs now and wonder if it's time for a new battery before the OEM dies in the middle of nowhere -

Suggestions/ things to be aware of?

IMO, if u have problems starting or at least needed to be jumped about 2 times or so then it might be time. otherwise, don't waste your money since ur battery should last u more than 4 years. my last car was a '97 civic, had a system, drove it everyday and didn't have to change it until 2003.

 

My battery has been in use since 99. It can still start alright. But it went dead one time when I had the radio on for too long, and jumped twice for no apparent reason. Now I have optima yellow and I cannot be happier with it

 

i have a 2000 TL; I accidentaly left the key on and killed the battery dead. I jumped the car, but recent starts were very, very sluggish. I replaced mine last week.

 

my 2000's battery just died ths past month. i would recomend a optima red top battery

i think the yellow is overkill, unless
you have a system.

 

I have a system... and the yellow kicks ass. But if your riding FACTORY, get the red. It would match the engine if you were to paint it red too.
