Will the ballast that is used in an 06-08 TL work with my 02 TL-S? One of my ballasts is dead and the other is on the way out as the bulb flickers when i take turns. And in case anyone asks, yes i did move parts around to figure out the culprit.

 

try an auto recycle yard/junkyard
they know interchange on years and parts and may have a set

or
get aftermarket waterproof units for less, but have to make a few slices

get aftermarket waterproof ballast and mount it on the outside. drill a hole to run the wire inside to the bulbs and seal it up real good with silicon. what i did and good for almost 2 years now.

 

My plan for the future is to just leave the old ballast in there, so it keeps the seal, and stick a ballast on the outside...

 

thats what i did, i was able to zip tie the new ballast right on top of the old ballast on the outside. its a great quick and easy fix. a lot of us az'er will be doing this since there has been an increase in ballast failures mainly due to age.
