lowbeam is flickering like a strobe light.

the weird part is that my high beams come on half power when my headlights are on. they look like DRL's

if i turn my high beams on, the drivers side low beam turns comepletely off.

the ignitor makes a clicking noise.

what do u think it is? ive searched but nobody has had the DRL to high beam issue

 

its gonna be ur H.I.D ballast

 

samething was happening and the the light just completly went off

 

the "DRL" is to compensate for the loss of low beam.

dunno.. i've had my low beam go out on me and had the DRL turn on..

yes, the ballast is most likely the problem. it probably got water damage, but the water never came close to touching the igniter so thats why the igniter still works.

 

Hmm..I never had this happen to me and I had to replace an ignitor a while back. I wonder why mine don't come on as "DRLs"

 

well i swapped everything over a couple times and ive narrowed it down to the ballast. im scouring craigslist for a ballast and if i cant find one for a reasonable price ill be taking my ballast apart and trying the cleaning method

 

the inside of the ballast is filled with like a silicone gel the cheapest thing to do is to get an aftermarket one from ebay
