Ball Joints

I know this topic has been covered alot but it does not seem that a conclusion has even been drawn...

I think my Type S needs new lower ball joints because I hear a creaking whenever my suspension flexes from the front left. I dont think it will do it when I push up and down though (I will check when I leave work (about 30 min)). So I am pretty sure this means ball joints but not positive. Assuming it is, I want Moog but can not find them anywhere and there have been posts saying that Moog makes them. If they in fact don't, what is the best brand that we can get? And do we NEED to take the knuckle off or is it possible to do it out with leaving it on? Is there a good DIY on this (I have only had my TL-S for 3 months and am apprehensive about working on it).

If it is not the ball joints; I hear it could be sway bar links or something with the struts. Anyway to tell for sure? Thanks in advance for your help.

creaking is usually suspension or swaybar. cluniking is usually ball joint. If it is a bal joint you have to remove the knuckle if its the lower

finally someone replied... how do the posts that talk about a ricey spoiler or big dubs go on forever and get feedback but a legit question such as this get no feedback?

Anyways, fsttyms1, thanks. Is there a way to remedy this problem besides spraying WD-40 in there? And 31k posts? damn man, if only you got a dollar for each one...

Don't know why you are having so much trouble finding lower ball joints, advance auto have moog, go to their web site, I have the same problem now, 103k and I am working on getting them and find someone to install them, I looked around and for that and my passenger's side wheel bearing they want it almost $400. I said thank you have a nice day too.
And yes sometimes there is a lot of talk here about everything but it is because at some point we already talk about it.

Oh before I forget, fsttyms1 is a freak of nature when it comes to posting......just joking there fsttyms1.

I went to advanced and auto zone, neither had it for mine. They showed the whole control arm I think but not the ball joints.

This topic has been slightly covered but never finished, like "Yes, place X carries them, the part number is XX-XXX and this is what they look like: XX.JPG, and here is how you do it:". There are always people arguing back and forth about how it do it and no one seems to agree on where to get them or put them on... Just trying to resolve this for once, I have searched ALOT and it is frustrating waisting all my time to read pages of posts about people that argue and never come to an agreement.

I have an '03 TL-S. So I think I need this one:

Now all I need to do is figure out if it is in fact the ball joints or something else then figure out if it is feasible to do this myself our just spare myself the time and have someone do it.

Yes, you have to make sure that it is in fact the problem, you don't want to change something that is in good working order and is a little bit of work, it works better for you if you have a lift but you have to blow/shave/drill the rivets that are holding the old ball joint and use the new screws that usually comes with it. Is better if you have someone thats done it before. Research here I think they explain how to do it.
