badge placement question's.

so due to a recent thread, i have been inspired to buy some things for my 03 TL-S.

i ordered the UA5 visor's, UA5 "H" grill, rear "H" emblem, and the "32V" emblem.

i liked the UA5 "Type-S" badge, but i didnt order it because i dont know the correct placement of it, and i did not order the "H" emblem for the engine cover, because i wasnt sure if it was a direct replacment for the small "A" on my engine cover.

so, my question is:

where is the correct location to place the UA5 Inspire Type-S badge?

does the small "H" replace the small "A" on my engine cover, next to the 3.2 vtec lettering?

ok, well a google search shows that the 32V emblem is for the older inspire's, and it looks like it goes in the upper right corner, back of the trunk.

the Type-S badge goes in the same spot, and is on the Saber's.

it looks like the 02-03 front end is the Honda saber, and the inspire is the older version?

is this correct?

believe so, i think i remember seeing a member with a silve rtl having it on the top right corner of the trunk

but imo i dont like it, its kinda bulky, and our rears with the emblems in the middle alone looks clean

"do to a recent thread"
yup, top right corner.
getting a (H) for the air bag would be sweet too, if u can find one or a stick on one.

32v emblem is actually for the TL-P in japan, you got the wrong emblem for your car, o well.....the type-s is explanatory, just replaces your oem type s badge.. the emblem for the engine, i believe you get that whole little piece that replaces where the small A is, i could be wrong, but pretty sure thats how it is..and for the visors, since the instructions are in japanese, you can use the same instructions as the 04+ tl window visor, same info just different car..

yeah, i found the picture of the 32V location after i ordered the part. thats ok, i can stick it on my tool box or somthing.

i ordered the "type-s" emblem yesterday.

i allready know how to install the visor's, they go on the same way the one on my civic go on.

the small "H" emblem sold at heeltoe, dosent say anything about the whole engine cover piece, plus its $15...i doubt id get that whole piece for $15...i might have to call on that one.

thanks.

yes the engine H can just be poped in/out

i think excelerate or heeltoe has it

and for the H on the steering wheel, only thing i can think of is using a 6th gen accord airbag or cover....someday ill look around for that and try it out

I think it looks better with no badges. "Inspire" looks too busy IMO.

where'd you find the side markers?
and don't forget center caps for your wheels.

let me know if you find a solution to the airbag and engine acura symbol
i want to do the conversion too but won't unless it was a truly complete changeover.

i hate seeing cars with honda emblems but acura airbag or centercaps...

im not worried about the airbag as much, my windows are tinted, and you cant see it from outside the car. my oem tl-s wheels are my winter wheels now....so i dont need H center cap's.

the engine cover "A" emblem is replaced by a small "H" emblem, sold at heeltoe.

What am I missing?

After 1999 it seems that the US design team designed and built the Japanese Inspire here in the US with only minor tweaks to the accord design. The cars were actually imported into Japan. So there is nothing JDM about the Inspire.

In 1999 these cars were replaced by the third generation TL that was based on the USA-spec Accord platform, and largely designed and engineered in the US by Honda R&D Americas, Inc. in Raymond, Ohio. Manufactured in the US, these were imported into Japan as the new Inspire and Saber.

In June 2003, the fourth generation Inspire was introduced in Japan. It was the redesigned American-spec Accord. This Inspire marks the first time Honda introduced their Variable Cylinder Management technology.

In October 2005, a fourth generation Inspire received a mild restyle, with new headlights, new taillights, revised interior and new colors. The Inspire targeted the Nissan Teana, the Toyota Mark X and numerous other entry level luxury cars from Japan.

In October 2007, the fifth generation of the Inspire was previewed at the Tokyo Auto Show. It is essentially a rebadged 2008 North American-market Accord with minor exterior and interior modifications.

good information. decided to stick with the acura emblems though just because it seems like my money could definitely be spent better elsewhere.

Darn 5 minute edit.

I thought to be JDM it required the car to be made in Japan for the Japanese market. Not made in the USA. If this is true it reminds me of the BMW folks who put euro plates on the front...

I care. I'm trying to understand why somone buys US made parts to look like a car imported into Japan. Since after 1999 the car stopped being designed/made in Japan none of the parts would be JDM if my understanding is correct.

Maybe I don't understand JDM.

As for the plates, I see the attempt to be something their not. Thats the connection.

I wonder what it would take to import a real Honda Inspire from Japan? Since it was made in the US it shouldn't carry any of the traditional import duties.

Happy Thanksgiving.
