back to zaino
just curious, but could you use a pre-polish/pre-wax cleaner to strip off the wax instead of using dawn? I'm not sure i wanna use dawn as a lot of dish washing detergents have mild abrasives too. Then again who knows whats in the cleaner and how zaino reacts to it. Anybody willing to experiment?
Re: back to zaino
If I recall correctly, the Zainobros website itself said to use Dawn...
either `wget` and `grep` it, or just go look carefully...

Yes you do... the whole point of washing with the dish soap is to strip the wax, then do the whole Zaino process. The reason they recommend Dawn is b/c it's non abrasive, so it won't damage the car. Of course you should only wash with Dawn once a year as stripping the wax and doing the whole entire Zaino process from scratch is not really required after the initial application......
Mother's makes a pre-polish prep which strips wax & all other crap from the paint, to be used after washing the car. They say to use it about 1 - 2 times per year. It is labeled as Step 1, (Step 2 is the polish and Step 3 the wax).
i thought it was easier to just wet my car and use an S.O.S. pad...boy was i wrong!
psych.
i used palmolive and it got the wax off. any kind of non-abrasive dish liquid pretty much will do it as long as it "cuts the grease" (wax is an oil/grease).
