In my car, when coming to a stop, it seems to get confused on what gear to go into and this causes a jump and high rev with the RPM. It seems to be happening from 3rd to 2nd in a slow down/stopping situation.
The best way to describe it is if you have a manual car and you drop the clutch, making the car jump... this is what's happening in my automatic car. Any thoughts?

 

Try this.. Go to a safe place that you can WOT (Wide Open Throttle) the Car.
Use SS (Sport Shift) and put the car in third gear and punch it... If the Car seems to downshift on its own (Not possible due to being in SS) your Transmission is TOASTED. Your issue is consistent with a transmission that is failing due to Clutch Pack debris contamination and clogging the solenoids... This test is to see if the clutch pack is indeed slipping.

 

If the ATF is unknown, do a 3x3 D&F with DW-1 ATF, and report back how it drives.
