Auto Starter Problem.... any ideas???

Hey all......

I have a DEI Remote starter. When it is warm outside, it works like a dream. When it starts to get cold, the problems begin!

Basically, when it is cold and I try to use the remote start, the car continuously cranks but never actually starts. I was told that if the battery voltage dropped below 9v than it would not start by design. Using this theory, I put a volt meter on the battery and then try to remotely start it....... It never even got close to dropping to even 9V, so I think that theory, although valid, may not pertain to my car.

On another note, after about 3 attempts of starting the car and it continuously cranking, it will start. If I then stop the car and remotely start it again, it works fine. If the car sits for about a half hour, I'm back to the cranking problem. On a nice warm day..... it works beautifully.

Any ideas on what could be causing this or what I can do to fix it?

sounds like the place that did the car didnt run a tach wire. basically the wire tells the alarm that the car is started or not, and it will adjust the crank time accordingly. e-mail me at griz8469@aol.com if you want me to take a look at the car i live in the area and professionally install alarms and remote starters.
