Question Auto lock

So, I recall our cars not having auto lock after starting our cars...

Now, every time i unlock my car... get in.. close the door.. and start it.. all my doors lock by themselves..

its cool but it kinda gets annoying. LOL

or... am i just going crazy. lol

Maybe you put your arm up and hit the lock, thereby locking all the doors..
Haha..I dunno man..that's really weird. I kinda wish our cars did have that feature tho..

For sure our car does not have auto lock after starting up the car, because I manually lock them every time. Normally, this feature comes with third party alarm system.

Since we are talking about door lock, how do we Power Unlock the driver door only when you are inside the car? the same way the remote works for the first press.

Unless you have an aftermarket alarm, otherwise the doors will NOT automatically lock after starting the car.

Didn't you wire the puddle lights to the locks?

That may be your problem. Either that or your car wants you to be in a dungeon since you have the curtains now.

The dome lights are wired to the locks though aren't they?

You may have shorted something.

If you figured this out, that becomes another mod for all of us. On lexus, it is called CBEST and dealer has to program it.

that sounds right. the door locks are usually wired in on some cars with the dome light. Thus the door switch when you open your door the dome light goes on or off. Its probably seeing a different load on the circuit causing the doors to lock.

try this when the dome light goes off see if the door locks. I know the 2nd gens when you open the door and close then start the car the dome light shuts off. that could be why right after you start it the doors lock.

I really dont like that feature. its kind of irritating. The domestics have them standard. my girls jeep does the auto lock after you go over 5 mph or so. Its different. i always feel like the door is going to lock me out of the car one day with the keys in the car.

I had that with my accord but that was because of the alarm system, loved it . Does the door unlock when you shut it off?

If it does props to you.. keep it that way.

Im using a loaner from the dealer 2009 csx (ONLY IN CANADA) the car locks when you start driving and unlocks only the driver door when shut off, which is a pain in the ass when you have paasengers, good idea but stupid that you still have to unlock their door.

Mine does the same thing, If i unlock the car with the keyless entry and don't open the doors within 30 seconds the doors lock up again... when I get in car and start it, if all the doors are closed they lock a few seconds after car starts up and unlock when I turn the car off, i'm pretty sure it did this before I added my alarm as well...
