Audio Help Needed!
I am getting the Eclipse 2210p HU (the one with the detachable TomTom) and have a dash kit question.
The dash kit Best Buy has avalible (and I need to get it from a local place today) says 2001-2003, but I have a 99'. It was my knowledge that it shouldn't matter...should it?
-Thanks
Any advice by the way? I'm getting it installed at CC in the end (and I pretty much don't have a choice on that - mostly the price), but they don't have the dash kit in stock (which is why I'm getting the kit at BB. I already plan on bringing a print out of the forum on keeping the factory sub and hoping that the CC installers will look at it.

theyll prolly just say you cant use bose system with aftermarket deck with out wiring the whole car, which is b/s. i have an aftermarket deck (tho i didnt keep my stock sub by choice... went with 2 12's) and it runs fine with the bose shiot. and the stock deck has the amp built in unlike alot of the bose systems.. and to answer your question im not too sure if the 99 dash kit will work.. im pretty sure it will since ive heard of people using 02/03 stock decks in thier 99's. hope this helps.
CC installed it just fine (except that I need to bring it back for some dremel work cause the guy wasn't happy enough with the work he did once it was in, but they were closing). Apparently the installer was a guy at a local audio shop that closed down so he actually knew his stuff.
Anyway - I recommend the system (Eclipse 2210p) to anyone on a tight budget. FM, AM, XM Sirrus (option), Aux IN, Nav (with TomTom interface), Mp3/WMA CD, USB key reading, Ipod connection, and the nav can be used as a portable GPS in other cars. I'll admit it's not pretty in our dashes (red lighting on it), but for $400 I'll live.
YouTube vid of it
edit*: they even did the sub when I showed them the forum DIY on it

I was also looking at this unit..........were you able to get the IPOD connector cord? NO ONE seems to have it (Circuit City, Crutchfield, etc.)....I have been told on numerous occasions that Eclipse hasn't released it yet. I know you can just plug your ipod into the unit, but I want the unit to drive my ipod, in other words, use the touchscreen on the HU as my Ipod - which requires the connector cable.

harminder: you can pick it up right under your dash, in the cruise control module its a BLUE and WHITE striped wire.....the module is on the right side of the steering connections. you can pull the plug out to see it better. hope this helps
the steering wheel volume control, just make sure you use the right resistor, and find the correct plug. not really much to say about that, programming is were it gets a little annoying.

@salvo24 - The price tag turned out to be a mess up on their website, the price has gone up since I got it installed
@pnthr30 - I didn't get the IPOD plug, but you can just grab iton Amazon
@wilp99 - I don't have pics yet, I'll get them as soon as I remembr too, but I'll admit that it's not the niceist system. It's not bad really just not the best... but who am I to complain considering its 1/3 the price of any comprable system
@ice2fire11 - It does have an external dash gps antenna
And I forgot to ask before - any suggestions of what to do with my steering wheel volume controls.. Anyone have pics of a TL wheel without them?
