ATTN: New Mod...

Ok, now that there is hard proof its time to post. Rick Case Acura is currently developing a $299 dollar bolt on mod that claims to increase performence by 15 bhp and 20 lb/feet of torque across the entire RPM range. This dyno was orginally posted by RAdams:

The red hp and purple torque line are for a base TL-S. The light blue torque and dark blue hp line are for the TL-S plus the mod. The green hp and black torque line are the TL-S plus mod and a standard CAI.

As of now, the product will be released at the SEMA show at the end of October. The product is undergoing patenting right now so thats the delay. 1000 units of the mod designed for the TL-S have been made and X units are being made for the J32A1 (TL-P). The developers of this mod might be able to modify it so it will fit on a J30A1 (Accord V6) also.

Thus far the mod is not a cam, ECU/software upgrade, will not affect the current warranty, is being CARB certified and will work with current I/H/E mods in place.

Will this mod require any other add-ons?

How soon might these be available?

Thanks.

If it's bolt on and good with the warranty, I'm very interested...and I don't really do mods normally.

UPDATE:

As posted by Syncivic today:

''Well,
Where do I begin....

Ok, first off, the mod on the 3.5L produced only 3-4 HP and 3-4 lbft of torque...very disappointing....this particular car had not been dyno'd before and was down on power overall (239 max peak vs 244-252 AVG) so I will be spending some time going over the recorded data (ECU parameters) to see whats up with this car. This may have skewed the gains if the car has a problem...we'll see.

Now for what most of you care about....

SFLA Type-S, the 3.2 CL-S with H/I/E produced 230.5HP @6700RPM ( no juice ) and 192lbft (peak) of torque @5900RPM with a CF of 1.01 SAE and 90F/30.22HG/SL/88% RH

SFLA Type-S w/"mystery mod":

produced 240.1HP @6600RPM ( no juice )
and 203.5lbft (peak) of torque @5900RPM.

Most impressive was from 3000-5000RPM, the torque was up 11-17lbft over baseline.

And for those who have to know:

The NOS shot on this car produced (w/mod installed): 282.2HP @ 6200RPM and 248.1lbft of torque (peak) @5000 RPM. This indicates a NOS jet of ~ 45-50HP shot. Bottle pressure @ test was 950 PSI (a bit low).

Note: both cars run on Amoco 93 octane

RAdams will post the Dyno's as soon as he comes to get them from me this afternoon.

J32A1 test runs begin Friday-Monday and I hope to report on Tuesday, 9/4 to the forum. ''

I am so interested. The best thing about it's late availability is that I can budget for it now w/o getting in trouble with the misses!!

So this mod produced more of a HP and torque gain on the unmodified Type-S than the one with the I/H/E? Is that correct? Hmmmm. what the hell is this thing??

Question Question???

According to SynCivic's post the "MOD" in question does indeed work. That is a good amount of torque/hp for under 300$. But, my question is will that "MOD" make the same kind of power in a bone stock S type versus one that has all the other mods such as Headers, Intake and Exhaust??? Inquiring minds want to know.

I have a 99 TL, and I was wondering, is this mod only for TL-s, or would it work for my car too? thanks
