assembly plants
I'm new to all of this but I have a 2000 TL that is a canadian model, Are the tranny's and or any other item other than appearance items any different?
Will I still have the same tranny problem, the only thing I have seen different are the tail lights and switch locations I'm sure there are a couple other items. But just curious if all the engines and tranny's came from the same plant same assembly lines.

I first talk to NA they told me to call Canada I was checking to see if the recall had been done yet and it had not, I've only owned the car for a couple month's. Canada Acura said it had not been inspected so I called the local dealer and informed them that they needed to talk to Canada Acura the service manager seemed to be in tune to this all ready but they gave me a loaner for two days, change the oil jet and all for free.
In the next coulpe of weeks the solenoid is getting cleaned the filters are getting changed, well at least the external one, timing belt, tensioners and idler's as well as the water pump while I've got it opened.
But does the tranny have to be pulled to get to the internal filter?
Also Acura Z1 tranny fluid three quarts correct or do you mean something different by the 3x1?
oh and I have to fix the heated seats too, does anyone know the exact wires to check for voltage under the seats just incase it's a switch before I pull them out and rewire the element.

the `oil jet recall` is well known to all- its a recall and mandatory free safety fix,
they inspect the trans with a boroscope camera for heat damage to certain areas.
If damage present, you get a free warranty rebuilt transmission!!
If no damage... that they are looking for- tech installs oil jet kit externally on the trans to filler hole for atf..brings fluid to 2nd gear shaft
Its NOT the same clutch pack/disc wearout prob we have overall,
3x1 yes 3 qts drained out and refilled 1 time, thats what acura says to do for service.
It will drain up to 3.2 depending on your patience, so get 4 qts and refill exact amount
then drive and ck level warm/hot per book
trans filter and selenoid are external to the trans, no trans removal ever required unless a leak from engine rear main oil seal ~or trans failure.
If trans is getting replaced for warranty, pay the small extra to have that rear seal job done for safety
Seat heat- ck the diy first few and last few pages - basically if the switch lights up it has power- if no light then pop switch out and test power on back.
If the driver seat has no butt heat- it broke a wire
Many guys carry a wallet in back pants pocket- it puts stress on a certain point over and over and eventually the wire overheats breaks catches fire
It looks like an electric blanket for your bed, just a thin wire run back and forth with juice pumped into it
Ck owner book on proper heat use- full time high will add to the problem
the timing belt water pump job is due at 105kmiles along with spark plugs etc
It has nothing to do with the trans end of the unit
When you do that job- replace all moving parts- rollers-tensioners if you expect it to last another 100k trouble free miles
Change all your fluids since you just got the car- all easy diy

as for my wallet, it goes in my front pocket, so no worry's there
anyways it is better for your back and stuff, to not have your wallet back there, so that you are not sitting lopsided everywhere you go

pretty much all ready up to speed on all of that, there is a filter internally, haven't spent much time under it to see if you can pull a pan and replace it or if the whole trans axle has to be pulled to change it.
Working on Acura's is new to me not fixing cars or designing parts for them.
