Now with the build your own 2002 model available on acura.com, it charged me $20 for an ashtray and $95 for a lighter. Do these not come standard on TL's???? I never noticed on my 2 test drives.

Indeed they are options......... Damn.... you get the ashtray on the Accord, but not the TL.....

But I always ash my cigarette out the window anywayz... but a lighter would be somewhat handy.....

 

All you get is a red velvet thing that I use for coins and a power outlet that I use to charge my cell phone.

how does that suck...i mean i never use either, but it would be nice to know that they come stock with the car...

 

Yeah, when i told my sales man about it he told me it was a nonsmoking car. All i wanted was a lighter.

 

Nissan does the same thing with most of their cars as well. They have an option which I thing they call the "Smoker's Package." As someone already mentioned it doesn't bother me because I don't smoke. Also the velvet tray keeps coins from sliding around.

Oh, the "ash tray" is lined with a red felt and is supposed to serve as a coin tray. The TL does not include a cig lighter. Just an "Accessories" socket, i.e., cell phone.

 

All you smokers out there: Please don't drop your ashes or cigarette butts out the car windows. I think that's a sick and irresponsible thing to do. Not only is it illegal (improper disponsal of flammable substances and littering or something like that), but it looks so tacky.

I mean, go ahead if you drive a Toyota tercel, but not in an Acura TL.

i am a smoker and i still dont care for the ashtray. i dont smoke in the car either. if you want a smoke, then get the hell out. besides, smokers usally have lighters on them anyway so whats the big deal if we dont have a cig lighter????
