Angry Arrgh Someone Scratched my TL

Man..I am pissed! I went out to my car today and saw that there was about an inch scratch on my rear bumper and some small scratches! I just got my baby too. I don't want to be driving around with that scratch! I was so careful to park at the end and over a foot of space from the line and they still scratch it! For God sakes I haven't even got my license plate

OK...it was bound to happen...but I didn't think it was so soon and so BIG!

I know you guys have scratches before, how much does it cost to fix it and do I need to take this to a professional to look at or can a touch up paint work? HELP! My car is Silver too...so the scratch looks really bad.

Geez!!!! ARGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

There was a discussion on this before. DO NOT get the Acura touch-up paint. It really sucks. I have a black TL and I bought the touch-up paint from Acura to hide it. But it was so liquidy, even after a few layers.
Anybody have any good ideas?

BTW, if you think a scratch looks bad on a silver car..........imagine what a scratch would look like on a shiny black car. It is really scary.

My bumper is dark color inside...don't tell me your's looks white? I don't know why they do that...can't they have the inside material same color..so scratches don't look too bad!?

Thumbs down

Some moron scratched me bamper only a week after I got the car... I expected it in NY, but only a week and so much space around... must've been some old fart...
...I got the touch-up paint and it's not that bad actually... you just have to let it dry between layers and do like 5-6 of them...

Just my 2 cents...

Had my car for a week, right in front of my face and old fart opens up the passenger side door of the Sebring he was getting out of to my left while i was in the car.. WHAP! right in front of my face...the results? a black mark which i rubbed off, and a lovely dent right on the crease that runs along the upper part of the door. I had the "dent devil" fix it, in which he did but it wasn't perfect, he didn't charge me for that panel because he didn't like the way it came out either. What else? I think a week after that the kids in the house next door from me were throwing either toys or rocks off the porch..the results from that? A lovely ding on my trunk! trust me, it gets better, but i'm not in the mood to think about it..

Sorry to hear that. That sucks big time.

That's why I try not to park on the street if possible.

My TL has been keyed before too. Luckly, I did not catch the person doing it or I probably would have gone to jail! I guess it is just jealous people taking out frustrations they can't have a nice car?!?

2001! Silver!! With Nav!!! I feel the brother's pain.

I've had mine 5 days and am terrified of getting my first dent/scratch. I keep my car at my parents house, they have a driveway, and borrow a car for the night. Wonder how long I can keep this up for?

OK...If anything, you must learn from your mistake. My thinking was, if I park at the end and have plenty of space left on the other side, they will not scratch it easily. That is wrong. If you are parking at the end, then the car next to you have to be a new car. Or else, you're better off parking between two new cars. I just now realize, people with old cars don't give a shit about their car, so what if they swipe your car...it's not like it's gonna make their car any worse...it's shitty as it is. I should know...I drove a shitty car before.

Just to add to the stories, I had my car for 3 days when I went to a very expensive restaraunt and the valet parking guy decided to park a BMW 3 series on my bumber and took 2 small pieces of paint off the bumber near the license plate. I covered it with the touch up paint and it looks ok, but still a pi$$er. BTW, touch up paint doesn't look TOO bad on the bumper of the TL if they are covering small scratches (IMHO).

Andrew? paranoid about a car?! this is new

you gonna park it far away like I do? or will your woman complain? if she does.. offer to drop her off at the entrance and wait

You might want to try some Zaino Z5 for those scratches if they are not too deep... anything else.. try 3Ms swirl remover.. and if that doesnt work.. then their light rubbing compound... if it is down to the primer.. then goto a body shop...

See now that's a scratch. I mean a scratch. I didn't even have my plates on it either at the time, and it was only 1 month old when that happened 1 1/2 months ago. Still waiting for the insurance company to cough up the dough to pay for it.

I thought the Satin Silver paint had special powers to resist injury?
