Anyone work for Acura/Honda?

Does anyone here work for an Acura/Honda dealership or parts & services dept? I was wondering if I get a job at one, would they more likely goodwill me a tranny if it fails? or am I just hoping for too much? lol...

you know what. i've worked for at ford, honda, pontiac/hyundia/honda, lincoln/mercury, caddillac, mistubishi, buick and i think one or two other stores. if it was a smaller store i'd say yes, good chance. but if you work at one of those auto malls, where the owner barely comes in, no. unless you were a tech or service writer that has worked there for a few years and you can b/s with the shop manager in the breakroom about the cashier's ass.

you may get employee price on a trans unit after 6 months,
but why should corp eat a trans out of limits just because you got an entry level job at the privately owned dealership?

Corp and the dealer are different entities

Is your trans going now and you are at the limits?

I didnt understand a word of that

Suggest you drive the car easy, check the trans fluid condition with oil analysis.
That will tell you if any bits of clutch material (yes automatics have clutches-several)
are loose, how many- if thats normal amount or bad- if you should do a simple drain and refill 3 qts of acura ZR1 trans fluid or what
www.blackstone-labs.com they send the test kits -plastic sample taking bottle and shipping container for free, you only pay when you send a sample in, about 25-35$ dependng on type of testing .
Well worth it to know right now where things stand.
They can test any type oil -coolant- engine or trans fluids- hydraulics--motorcycles-jets-

yo I work for one here in SLC and well I was a customer for like 10 months before I got a job there. My mileage was 120k when I got my buddy to test drive it and he got me a 50% goodwill warranty just because of a "flare during acceleration". You'll definitely get shut down if you have anything higher then this or have only work at it for a short time.

Been with Acura for a long time, when I asked them to fix the rust on my Legend under "good will" the district manager for warranty claims almost blew apart from laughing.

It might get you somewhere, depeding on how far up someones ass you get

I don't think a license is required if you were the guy who washed the cars.

What's a "flare during acceleration?".

Think of it as a minor slip--the gear engagement is delayed. So for example, if it was shifting from 2 to 3, the transmission will try to engage, but only does so after the engine rpm increases by a few hundred rpms (or more). When the engine revs up while waiting for the gear engagement, it feels like you're revving in neutral. But all of this takes place over the course of a second or less, so what you'll experience is a sudden spike in the RPM followed by a gear engagement.

Does that make any sense?
