Anyone Experience This?

Last Sunday I was horsing around with a friend at a red light. We were both revving our engines and right before I took off, I saw the triangle with the ! come on. Before I only saw that sign when I would mess with the VSA button (just to see what it would do). Anyhow, it was alarming to see that button come on just while revving the engine. The car performed fine (and I left my friend way behind) but it still bothers me. I will be reading up some more on the manual and if I see anything useful, I'll post it.

In the meantime, if anyone has suggestions/input, please advise.
Thanks

Best guess is it was the ABS - your torque braking probably caused one wheel to shift relative to the other.

BTW, this is very bad for an unmodified transmission.

At driver school this is defined as a skid, and by extension, every time one wheel is moving faster than another, it is considered a skid (as in making a turn).

The only difference is whether the skid is controlled or not.

I totally appreciate your opinion but just am a little confused by what you mean when you say "this is bad for an unmodified transmission". Do you mean I should not drive the car in this manner or that it is bad that the vehicle is responding this way. BTW, I was at a dead stop while revving the engine.

Please advise
