i switch back and forth from mobil 1 to castrol.. doesnt seem like a huge difference to me, but mobil1 seems to burn alittle bit longer and cleaner. the weird thing is ive been getting better mileage with castrol, but its only like 2 mpg more.

I seem to recall a while back hearing that the Castrol Syntec made for the North American market is not a true synthetic, but syn-cracked dino or something like that. I don't understand the full technicals behind this definition, but, if you look at the back of a Castrol Syntec container there are 2 varieties...one says "Not for sale outside of the north americas" and one is made in Europe. I've heard the one made in Europe is of higher quality. I stick to Mob1.

I have always used mobil 1 full syn since day one. But I heard about Mobil 1 extended performance. Supposed to last 15k miles instead of 10k between changes. About the same price too! Mobil says it has 36% more cleaning agents and like 40% more lubricating agents or something like that. I think I'll try it next oil change. Has anyone used it?

mobil one for life. Just because i have a free supply the shop i work at uses mobil one exclusivly kinda sucks for people with civics haha gotta pay 6 bucks a quart. Now the question is what viscocity do you guys use. Cuz I use 10-30 like that cap says but people keep telling me the 0w40 mobil is good too.
