Any1 ever have problems giving some1 a jump start

I heard from some people on newer cars like 2002+ if you give someone a jump it can mess up your internal electronics, like odometer etc... just checking to see if any1 had any experience. And plus I just dissed my friend, and told him no to a jump when he was stranded LOL

I know we all want to help others but this must be done as directed by the manual, if done wrong it could damage the computer in your TL and is a very costly one. Also, if by any chance the other car has a battery that is shorted internally, this can also cause a serious problem to your computer.

Not knowing what the case is, if I still want to help, I will go as far as taking my battery off and put it in the other car until I get it started and then put the old battery back on to see if it will hold it "on", I'll make sure to have the key code to the radio so you can get it back on.

Also, so you know, this will reset your computer and could cause idle problems. I had that hapen to me when I was trying to put my K&N filter back on after cleaning it, I have to remove the battery to get to the back clip so when I disconnected the battery and I have to disconnect it twice to reset everything and finally got my idle smooth again.

there is nothing special to do. All you have to do is conect positive to positive, negitave to negitave on jumping car and neg to ground point on car being jumped. you wont fry any thing.
