I think the OEM filters are now made by FRAM. IMO they are not the best quality and I would never use it for Extended Oil Change Intervals. The Mobil 1 filters have higher quality internal components and is what I use for my 7500 miles oil changes with Mobil 1 Full Synthetic.

Too get back on topic, I know Pepboys carries it but they are like 10.99/filter or 9.99/filter with coupon. Not cheap but one of the best oil filters out there.

Y not? iused nothing but fram for teh first 100k on 7500 intervals, from 100k to 200k now ive used fram extended guard. car never burns a drop of oil durring its 10k+ intervals

As for where to get the M1 filters cheaper? Check e-bay

Kris, what type of oil do you use.

I got mine at autobarn.com. I think they're doing free shipping right now for orders over $50.

I have seen FRAM filters disected. They don't inspire much confidence in their quality. The Mobil1 filters are made by Champion labs as well as K&N filters. They actually look like quality construction.
