Any damage can be caused by incorrect jacking?

I just want a peace of mind, please tell me it is ok...
I once put the jack next to the front jackpoint, coz I didn't believe the metal edge on the jackpoint can stand the weight of the car.

Assuming the "picture" (front view of the car, driver's side) is as following:

,,,,,car ,, |
_ ,, _____|
,|_|=====
,,,,,,,,||
,,,,,,, || <----jack
,,,,,------
======================= groud

Did I cause any damage to the underbody or not? I can't tell by myself because that area is covered by a piece of painted plastic of the bumper material, so if any big guru here can tell me what is next to the metal edge of jackpoint under the plastic, i will be very grateful.

i would like to know as well.
in my case, i put it behind the jackpoint. opposite of where "gainful" placed his jack.
im noticing that the passenger door makes a clicking sound when opening now. like the seals are not matching.

possible frame damage??

there will be no damage that would effect the car. you may have dented your floor board a little but as far as bending the unibody enough to cause major damage, no.

unless the car just fell, I don't think there will be any damage to the body.

As long as the area is not dented or crooked or looks like being pushed in by the jack, then you will be just fine. The jack point (the pieace of metal) is pretty strong to hold the weight, why don't you try that area next time.

Cheers !!!
