Any custom sub boxes out there?
Any custom sub boxes out there?
Gents, did a search on this site, ebay, www., etc. What i am wondering for our generation TL is there a premade custom sub box for a 10" like a few have had made on the 04+ in the left rear corner of the trunk? I already have a q-logic but would like to clean up the trunk a bit and like tuck the sub in a corner to better fit in, look cleaner? i know i can get one custom made, just wondering if there is one out there already.

A few people made corner ones for our cars a few years back. I did a search but came up empty handed for pics. 1 Turned out really nice. It was fiberglass and fit really good in the D-Side corner

did you ever see the alpine box i have for my 10" when we did your shocks? i can easily push it to the back of the trunk to access my spare without removing the box. and the color is almost a perfect match. although i know you're looking for something a little more form factor fitting....

well, i was just hoping there was something like a quick and easy fix, i think i just need to redo a bit the way i have it, put the amp to the side. i think i may be selling this car soon so i don't want to do too much customizing along with lots of $$

hey guys what's up, i do a lot of customs systems. those boxes on the side built with fiberglass will nto hit hard or even sound good, there is not enough air for the woofer to move and it will bottom out. what u can do is build a type dual reflex bandpass box and port it through the middle of the back seat. i did one for a 330i and this guy can't sit in his car and play his music. the box is tuned at about 45hz

well i read tonight you can bolt the amp to the sub box, i didn't think you could b/c of vibration issues, so i did that and bolted the capacitor also to the sub. opened up some room in the trunk which i was after. now i gotta figure out how to hold the sub in place and not move around.

and to hold the subs down, long strip of velcro along the box, or L brackets...
if the sub is seal, its all bout wave length, if ported, it depends on size/air space...
mine was seals, closed i aimed it to the end of the car, loud and more deeper it would be, but its not like u can just cut a hole in a sealed boxed and expect higher dbs, all bout size when u port it..

Yeah I know its not as easy as that but I really want to do that in my TL.
I installed a aftermaket sub in the rear stock location its a 175 watt rms pioneer sub it hits hard and sounds great, unfortunatly it took lots of custom work to get it to fit. In the end i would say its much easier to just put a box in the trunk
