another PS issue

This noise is making sell this car now. But, I am not giving up and need help.

The PS fluid was really dark and low, so I decided to flush it and change the o-ring. Once I did that, I connected everything back together filled the reservoir with Acura PS fluid w/ engine off. I started the car, it sucked all the fluid all the way down (During this process noise stopped and started back up) This time making the fluid foamy w/bobbles, but clean fluid. so I added more PS-F and turned the wheels R and L. That didnt help either.

There are no leaks, the fluid does circulate fast-is this normal right?
I am running out of ideas and dont know what could it be. Bad pump? or am doing the flush the wrong way??

Thanks

It's sucking in air, most likely from the PS pump. I replaced mine for about $70 on eBay, and it worked like a charm.

the loose drive belt will cause noise every time you turn your car.

are you filling the ps res while the wheels are being turned--
so it has a supply of fluid to pump into the steering rack?

how much fluid did you add?
how did you drain it--with return hose off and engine running- per the book?

who has the ps total fluid capacity number handy?

First off, the problem is on the suction side of things if you are pulling air in, which you are.
The o-ring is the first thing to replace. Assuming you installed it correctly (did you check again?), then it's probably the suction hose which you jostled or removed to get the new o-ring in. Put some worm-drive clamps on both ends of the suction hose because the spring clamps don't work as well as the hose ages. If that doesn't fix it, you might have tiny crack on the hose.
Remember that this whole assembly (o-ring and suction hose) won't usually leak when there's a problem.

I filled the resv with one Acura PS bottle then started the car

I did some more reading and I only replaced the o-ring on the pressure hose and not the suction. I picked up the orange o-ring today and will re due this process. I will try the worm drive-clamps as well.

One question: right now there is not a drop or oil in the system. How should I add PS-F correctly and not F/up?

Update:
I changed the suction hose o- ring (orange) ie the big hose that goes from the resv to the bump, and used drive clamps on the hoses. I then added one bottle PS-F, started the car, once the fluid was sucked in, I shut off the car and added another bottle to the resv. The started the car back up. Now, with the fluid at the right level I turned the steering wheel L/R and it eliminated all the noise and worked like a champ.

Lesson Learned and for those are doing a PS flush. Don't be like me and make 2 trips to the dealership and repeat your process:
- Buy 4 or 5 to be safe, bottles of Acura PS-fluid if yours is really dark and stinky. You will only need 2 bottles to fill you ps, when your PS system is emrty.
- Buy High pressure hose o-ring (black) and suction hose o-ring (orange)
- buy/ use something to suck the fluid out and don't disconnect any hose, believe me you don't want oil evey where.
Do this if your have no leaks, cracks on hoses, or bad pump.
Before doing this make sure you inspect everything.

Thanks and now I have to clean up this oil mess in the garage LMAO

repeat the full lock to lock slowly several times to be sure all the air is removed

cardboard under the front wheels makes it easy to turn

if fluid was really bad looking- do the whole job twice- pumping out the steering rack by turning the wheels, refill and burp- drive to circulate- drain and refill
Especially if there was a pump failure-want all the old crud out!

congrats on a diy done!

if you slide the return line inside a slightly larger piece of garden hose-
secure with clamps, start engine and turn wheels- have hose sit in an old oil jug for disposal

NO need to empty the res- the pump do the work for you

Note: Its on a brake fluid flush--do use a turkey baster to remove most of fluid from master cyl
