Is another one bitting the dust?

I have the feeling my 99 transmission is on its last leg. Whenever i ease of the gas or slowly get back on it does some strage shake ting like the car is running out of gas feel. It sure is shifting preety damn rough too. Maybe that part is just in my head but it does do the jerking thing. It always makes me look at my gas guage, it really has that same feel. Any opinions? I am very scared because it is a 99 and my warentee is up soon, so I am thining it will really be shot right after it is out.

Is there any way to speed up the process so I cut it just in time, and that it does not look like my fault? I dont even want to guess how much it will be to fix after warentee?

Dave

How many miles do you have on your 99 TL? If your warranty is running out then I assume you're close to 50k miles, is that right? I have a 99 TL also but my tranny is fine. I have close to 54K miles now. BTW, I pushed the car pretty hard sometimes and I race a lot. How is your style of driving?
Whatever you do, try to get it fix under warranty because it will cost you an arm and a leg afterwards. Go to the dealer and tell them to take a test drive with you and hopefully the problems will pop up with them there. Good luck and let me know what happens.

It only has like 27K miles. I bought it used when it had like 23K. I have only since april this year. My driving style is close to yours.

That's pretty low mileage for a 99 TL. Did you know the previous owner? If no, did you get a background check on that car before you bought it. It might be that the previous owner probably turned back the odometer. But then again a few people in here have complained about tranny problem too. So your best bet is to take it to the dealer before your tranny dies and take them for a test drive. It doesn't hurt and maybe they'll find something.

Kinda more difficult to turn back a digital odometer...unless somehow it got fully reset.

I'd take it into the dealerand have them check it out. Should be covered under warranty.

get your VIN # and check it out on Carfax.com. Not that you can do anything about it, if you now found out that it was rolled back...

I think you should take ur car to the dealer and have it fixed rite away, if not.. you should buy extended warranty for it. I have a 99' also and i just hit 45k miles today. I have no problem with it so far. but i heard alot of people complaining about having tranny problem. And i was at the dealership last week asking how much would extended warranty cost and they told me 1800. i would buy it but dont have 1800. So hope you fix it while still under warranty. take advantage of warranty while you can before it pass 50k.

All I know is that the car was a previous lease buy a man and woman. I was told the even leased 2, a red and black one. Lease was over so I picked one up. I have a feeling they will not see my problem. It is not real bad but i noticed after driving it every day. A quick test i dont think they will notice it like i do.

Hey I have a 01 and I have this problem but it occurs mostly when the engine is cold and on its first start of the day, then it goes away. The only way the dealer will feel it is if they keep overnight. My car has 15k on odometer but I stradling the fence on trading in Dec or Jan. I haven't taken to dealer yet though for this problem.
