Air Filters - Recommendations for drop ins? K&N?
Just got my 2002 TL-S after 3 months of searching...love it! Tweaking now and have used K&N for my accord, so wondering how people feel about the same for the TL-S.

Supposedly the TL-P filter is different from the TL-S filter. (Or something like that, people had problems with them not fitting.) Be sure to get the right part.
I love mine. Reminds me I need to clean it this weekend.

I just bought my TL-S a few months ago and the K&N swap was one of the first things I did. The part number for the stock TL-S intake I believe is 33-2178. Got it off eBay for something like $45 shipped. Took off the intake resonator while I was installing it and have no regrets, car sounds great when you get on it, but stock when just crusing.

If you are doing it to save yourself money from buying disposable filters, go right ahead, but if you are looking for real perfomance, save up for a Comptech Icebox, or other intake. Take it from someone who had both.

Performance wise, taking off the resonator doesn't do anything (or very little if anything). The resonator is kind of like a muffler for the intake; the only reason it's there is to keep the noise from the intake to a minimum. As I said before, I don't notice a difference in sound until I actually get on it, but it makes the car sound more aggressive when you do. To take it off the best course of action is to take off the front bumper then remove a couple of bolts that attach it to the car. The resonator is just a big plastic box located underneath the stock intake box; some people can do it by getting at it through the fender liner, but I think it's easier just to take off the bumper.
