air filter on AEM CAI
the AEM filter is simply a knock off of the K&N and therefore it would be safe to use the recharged kit on the AEM filter.
It is said that every 25-30k miles you should use this filter as it gets rather dirty.
good luck with that, the charger kit is very simple to use, just read the instructions on the side of the box/bottle.

can someone confirm this? does the AEM in fact come with the K&N Filter???
If hzm82 is correct when saying it will void your warranty, then obviously it's not a K&N air filter. Why would AEM void the warranty if in fact it was a K&N air filter? it would make sense that they would allow you to use their recharge kit. I've been told that using the kit will not do anything to the filter, and that many forum members have done this before, but I believe that it's not the K&N with the AEM CAI...
NSXNEXT, do you know for a fact that AEM just a rebadged K&N filter? I looked at all the filters made by K&N and none of them have the exact dimensions, only one that came close is the RU-4450. Just because it's a fabric cotton filter doesn't mean it's the same thing. It maybe the same design but I doubt they bought lots of K&N filter and stuck AEM logo caps on it.
sc354, I am correct when I say that using any other recharge kit will void the AEM filter warranty. It said so if you read the papers that came with the AEM CAI. BUT AEM would say that using any other recharge kit would void your warranty, why? Because they make money when you buy THEIR recharger kit. Their kit is about 3-6 dollars more then the K&N kit.
