huh? coolant? i didnt remove any tubes. one tube need to be extended since the aem connection is located underneath the pipe. but the other stock tube doesnt need any extension nor does it need to be removed.
i have no clue wtf this tube is for.

oh yea how the hell do you use the template aem gives you? im confused with that . it has a pic of a long rectangle the at the bottom there are two evenly spaced lines that go across that say 2.5 " pipes cut here next line 2.75" pipes cut here, then the last line 3" pipes cut here all with an arrown pointing in the right corner. wtf is this>?i thought they would give me a piece of paper that you tape on the pipe and make the cut?

umm..... i don't know what to say. look at pic 200069, see that he extend the hose from the stock opening to the back of the intake? i can't say it's NOT allowed to do it that way, but i don't think it's the best way. the best way would be take away that whole metal stock tube(s) and replace both hoses with the ones from aem
and if you use the extended hose method like it's shown, then yes you will not need the extra hose

this is what juniorbean says "Technically you are supposed to use both of the AEM tubes to replace the stock metal tube (which looks like on tube, but contains two... air and anti-freeze).
When I was doing the install I had my friend look at the car (he was a mechanic) just to make sure I did everything OK. I showed him the tubes and he suggested leaving the metal tubes if possible since they will carry the hot anti-freeze better then the rubber tubes will. So, instead of replacing the metal tubes I left them and just used the rubber tubes on the end to connect into the intake. "

In the end the functionality is the same... it's really only for look and fit. Several other members have done it this way as well. If you search for my topic from earlier this year you'll see a pic. The most updated pics, however, are on my website....
