my dealer quoted $500 just to install the springs!! 500 for both is certainly high but not totally outrageous if they warannty the work. personally, I took my business elsewhere. Buncha jerks.

I'm pretty sure alignment takes a bit of time since you have to pull out the rear interior panels, starting from the back of the trunk. It sounds like an average price you'll find unless you go to a ninja shop and they have a guy install it in the parking lot.

What about the struts?? I checked out this website and it said something about the OEM struts are not made to support the lower springs and so on and so forth.

Check the Park Ave Acura web site. They list installation prices for all Comptech stuff. Use these prices as a standard to judge against your dealer.

I'm looking for springs and perhaps struts. I'll probably go with Comptech springs since that's what dealer carries. I called Stevens Creek Acura and got $500 labor for spring install and $150 for wheel alignment. Compared to Park Ave Acura, it's a rip off. I might have to drive to NJ from CA to get the better deal!

I think getting struts replace while installing spring maybe a good idea since labor cost will be same and you are only paying for parts. Still have to decide between Koni and Tokico adjustables.

Does anyone know what kind of structs are stock and if they are worth keeping?

these prices sound way high to me but that's probably because dealer techs get more per hour than the average garage guy. i haven't looked into the tl-s yet, but the hondas i have had before are quite simple to install springs. they were no more than about $100 for labor and it only took about 1.5 hours if not faster. alignment is about another $100 for all four wheels. however i have read that as long as the rear wheels are in spec, then there is no need to do the fronts and that's just a waste of money (and a scheme if anyone says you must do a 4 wheel aligment) ~> anyone heard or read the same??? and i think sways are probably just as easy to install and as quickly.

i think you guys should go by some performance shops in your area and check out some of the labor prices. saving $200 is enough to buy another mod!

sup guys,

Tell you the truth the dealer will try to ripe you off on everything I got my springs install by my mechanic lol for 100 bucks he even check my alingment for me and it was fine. Just to double check if the comptech springs even ruin the alignment I ask the dealer to check it too when I had to bring it back for the recall and they said it was fine too. So to me if you install comptech springs you alignment should be fine. I also got both my exhausts install for 40 bucks. I wish I did the jobs myself it looks hard but it was real easy to install the comptech exhausts.

hope this helps,
Mr.T
